Private and public beaches of akaba. Aqaba beaches (Jordan) Bernice Aqaba beach

Once upon a time the beaches of Aqaba were coral, but as time passed, the corals collapsed, and in their place they began to import fine, sand-like, pink gravel. Locals it is said that such actions are necessary for the safety of tourists, so that no poisonous sea creatures can harm the swimmers. It is difficult to say how true this is, but the fact remains that many of Jordan's beaches are wide long strips of coastline that stretch from Aqaba itself to the special tourist area of \u200b\u200bTala Bay. Let's talk about the most famous ones:

Berenice Beach Club

Club vacation for those who live in second line hotels without their own beach. Berenice Beach - the coast is sandy, but shallow water is pebbly. Berenice Beach is located south of Aqaba, before reaching resort area Tala Bay aside Saudi Arabia, between 2 and 3 southern beaches.

Pros:

Beautiful underwater reef The water is clear on the surface;

The cost is $ 14 for adults and $ 8.5 for children, for everyone except those staying at the hotel. The price includes: beach towel, sun lounger, umbrella, use of the pool;

Pools on the territory of 3. For very kids with a depth of 0.5 meters, for active rest 1.4 meters deep and family up to 3 meters deep. There are many palm trees and shady corners, there are bars and a cafe with fast food, a dressing room and showers with hot water. There is Wi - Fi;

On the beach, no one is intently examining each other. The audience is mostly European or Arab, but advanced, average income. There are many free places.

For those who like to swim with a mask and a snorkel the rental is organized;

You can dive or enter the water from the side of the pier, immediately to the depth. Separately equipped berth for boats;

Security, many attendants, polite and friendly staff, take orders ashore and bring beer and juices.

Minuses:

You cannot go in with your drinks and food. Bags are often checked at the entrance.

Not everyone likes the food in local cafes, although there is no dispute about tastes, and there is no single assessment expensive kitchen or not. For example, pizza from $ 7 (meat) to $ 7 (with seafood), sandwiches $ 7, pasta with chicken $ 8, salads from $ 6.5, tea $ 4, coffee $ 7 cola, fanta, sprite $ 1.5 , water $ 0.7;

Very littered bottom, plastic dishes, bags are blown into the sea directly from boats;

There are three pools - 0.5 depth for toddlers, a pool for outdoor activities - 1.5 depth and a family pool from 0.5 to 3 m deep. Unfortunately, if you have children, then you are allowed to swim only in the family, and on weekends there are a lot of local people who swim very badly, as a result, the entire surface of the water is cluttered with swimming circles, arm ruffles and women in black robes. Even if your child is swimming well, the guards strongly suggest going to the family pool, where there is "no place for an apple to fall";

It closes at 6 pm, you must make an appointment in advance for the bus that delivers tourists, otherwise you will have to order a taxi, which costs $ 7 per car;

All water activities are paid separately. namely:

  • Jet ski -42.5 $ 15 min
  • surfing - 35 $ 60 min
  • kiting - 42.5 $ 60 min

South beach

This is a common name for a long coastal zonecovered with white sand. Five free beaches start at seaport and the ferry terminal. The southern beaches are a great alternative to the city's public beach. South beach located at a distance of 8 - 10 km from Aqaba. A quality highway winds along the coast. Great views of Israel and Egypt. 15 - 20 minutes by car. Beaches South beachwere discovered 10 years ago.

Pros:

Convenient shallow water, coral-free swimming area;

On weekdays, the fair sex can safely sunbathe in open swimsuits;

The beautiful reefs will be appreciated by snorkelling and diving enthusiasts;

The area is equipped with toilets, changing rooms, showers and many sun awnings.

Minuses:

- you can get there only by taxi or a rented car, the cost is $ 7 per car or $ 1.5 per person;

Cold water in showers in winter up to 25 - 30 degrees;

Large local population from Friday to Sunday. Children with all their spontaneity can play on your towels, you can be photographed without any consent from your side, specially dressed Muslim women will look at your open swimsuits with contempt. Noisy, crowded and unceremonious;

It is better to go into the water in special reef slippers, because the bottom of the shallow water is covered with small stones;

There are no sun loungers on the beach, you can only rent plastic chairs or tables, the local population sunbathes under awnings while sitting at a table, it is not accepted to sunbathe on the beach, especially when lying down. There are free stationary barbecues where you can fry meat;

Rubbish is found, although much cleaner than on city beaches.

On the territory of one of the southern beaches, beach number 3 (Beach 3) is tourist area Marina Park, on the territory of which there is a cinema, a small museum, a sporting goods store and a cafe where you can buy water for $ 1.5, ice cream from $ 0.6 or order fast food. This beach is considered one of the best. You can rent umbrellas, sun loungers, mattresses, towels. Clean showers with hot water. The territory has a swimming pool, volleyball court.

City Beach

A very special place in terms of European common beach swimming. As it should be, a lot of the local population rests on the city public beach. Muslim women practically do not bathe, so Slavic young ladies arouse obvious undisguised interest from the male population. Even children with undisguised curiosity hover around our women. Some of them annoyingly take a photo near you as a souvenir, not modestly sit right on your rug.

Pros:

This place is beautiful in the evening, when the brightly lit port with many large and small ships, yachts and boats creates an enchanting illumination;

Convenient location right in the city;

Free beach;

Beautiful views at sunset, lots of greenery. There are tables in the coastal zone, but it costs $ 2.8 to sit at them, or an alternative to sand and stone steps;

There is an opportunity to ride a boat;

Nearby affordable fast food with hot dogs from $ 2.8.

Minuses:

There are showers and toilets on the beach, but they are closed, and the key is given by a local employee, but for a fee. One must be careful in souls;

They clean up systematically, but there is enough garbage, cigarette butts, pieces of newspapers;

Special unceremonious attention to European girls

Along the public beach, the promenade is the only area where you can walk near the sea, but, alas, it is in a very dirty and dilapidated state. For some reason, the city administration does not pay due attention to this zone.

Address: Aqaba, Aqaba, Jordan

The beaches of the city hotels Movenpick, Intercontinental, Kampinski, etc.

In the city limits of Aqaba, in addition to public free beaches, there are private, paid and owned by hotels. Movenpick beach is considered one of the most fashionable. You can get to the beach through the reception from the side of the hotel's central entrance (on King Hussein Street). The entrance will cost $ 55. A couple of years ago we opened another fashionable recreation area "Aula", there is everything for a demanding tourist, even a golf course. Entrance for the day will cost you $ 42.5

Shallow entrance to the water, convenient for children;

Clear water, but almost no corals;

The sandy-pebble beach is equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers, there are swimming pools (one heated), a jacuzzi, a sauna, restaurants, and a gym.

Not a cheap entrance to the beach, for those who do not live in the hotel;

Nearby, the port and boats go almost near the buoys.

In general, in Aqaba, the choice of areas for swimming and tanning is quite large, it all depends on your desires and wallet.

Private and public beaches Aqaba

Private and public beaches of Aqaba, Jordan

All of Aqaba's beaches are nearby and Arab Divers is happy to offer free transportation to our diving and snorkelling sites during the day, starting at 9am.

City Beach

Of course it is not best beach Aqaba, but it is a convenient option if you are staying in the city center or one of the nearby hotels. For a better, more enjoyable day at the beach, we recommend that you look a little further south, away from the heavy boat traffic that exists due to the proximity of the City Beach to the port of Aqaba. There are no snorkeling or dive sites worth mentioning here. Although, since this beach is often crowded with people, this makes it great placeto see people and local culture.

Aqaba South Beach

South Beach is a 12km stretch of beaches and shallow bays covered with vibrant coral reefs. Some of Aqaba's best snorkelling and dive sites start just meters from the shore!

Most sites South Beach wide and flat, with enough room to stretch out to their full height and enjoy a sunny day; yes, and be sure to stay until evening to enjoy a truly spectacular sunset. This is the real Red Sea in Aqaba, the very one that you read about in the guidebooks: quiet, calm and stunningly beautiful.

The Gulf of Aqaba is sheltered from strong waves, which means that the sand here is not as fine as in other, less calm regions. It contains gravel and pebbles, so for your comfort and safety we recommend wearing diving shoes, or any other waterproof footwear.

Inexpensive transportation to and from South Beach is available 24/7. And when ordering dives and snorkeling, transport to the points is free of charge. It departs from downtown Aqaba and returns there, according to the timetable.

Marine Park Visitor Center (Public Beach) Al-Yamania Beach

Flanking the coast just in front of Arab Divers, just 800 meters away, it is the only public beach of Aqaba South Beach. Marine Park Beach is 7 kilometers long and offers access to 11 unique dive sites. You will also find many other activities here, including the Visitor Center, which children will love to explore some of Aqaba's underwater life up close. On site there are toilets and showers (JD 0.50), as well as a small market with a restaurant serving fresh delicious local cuisine.

This beautiful beach can get a little crowded during the holidays and weekends during the high season. Need more privacy? Several private beaches just below along the coast offer a calm and relaxed atmosphere all year round.

The ideal snorkeling spot is 650 meters from the beach and the magnificent dive site, Black Rock, right next to the shore

Tala Bay Beach Club

This beach is part of Tala Bay, an integrated residential and tourist resort located just 1km south of Arab Divers. Entrance ticket gives you all-day access to high-end amenities including swimming pools, one of which is heated, children's swimming pool (towels included), recreation areas near the pools and on the beach, with sun loungers and umbrellas, a bar, as well as an excellent club restaurant.

This is not the first choice for diving or snorkeling in Aqaba, but if you just want to lie on the beach all day this is the best choice.

Royal Diving Beach Club

Entrance fee: JD 10

Southernmost private beach Aqaba, about 2 kilometers from Arab Divers, is arguably one of the most beautiful places... The wide, clean beach offers a little great depth for swimmers and pristine coral reefs (Coral Garden), easily accessible for snorkelers and divers. You will find here deep and shallow pools, toilets and showers, a small bar and a restaurant. It is temporarily undergoing renovations, but the beautiful photos of the surrounding nature that you will take will make up for this deficiency.
