You can also get a ticket to this wonderful city-state at travel agencies, but it will cost 30-70% more than “your” vacation. Most often, those travelers who have already visited many places on the planet, but who are looking for something new, come here. You can relax here simply amazing.

Flights

To get to this state is most convenient by plane. Buying flights to Singapore is best on the site. This service finds cheap tickets, scanning offers of most international airlines. On different sites, the same ticket can cost differently, but thanks to Aviasales you will receive a ticket at the lowest price. I have been using this site almost since its opening and there are no complaints about its work. Usually cheap Singapore tickets (round trip) cost 450 €.

You can fly to Singapore with departure in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Minsk, and sometimes there are flights from the regions. Direct flights are more expensive, if you want to save money, then buy tickets for flights with transfers. And another tip: buy tickets in advance, the sooner the better, at least 3 months in advance, and better for 6, then prices will be minimal.

If you are already in one of the countries of Southeast Asia, it is easier and cheaper to fly to Singapore by low-cost airline (low-cost carrier). A ticket will cost several tens of dollars.

Hotels

There are no cheap hotels in Singapore, only relatively inexpensive ones. But all of them are comfortable, air conditioners are everywhere (this is simply necessary, given the average temperature in the city + 32 0 C: the equator is not far away), the staff is friendly and caring. There are, of course, hostels, accommodation in which does not greatly affect your budget, but not all travelers agree to exchange a hotel for a hostel. What is a hostel and how to live budget read.

Booking a hotel in Singapore is the most reliable on the site. This is an international project, the capabilities of which have taken advantage of millions of people around the world. Moreover, room prices will please anyone. There is also a similar company that provides similar search capabilities, but is not so convenient, has fewer filters for searches and thematic collections of hotels, which greatly facilitate the choice of a place to stay. Rental of property

When traveling around the world, it is important for every tourist to solve the problem with the place of temporary residence. Going to Singapore, many are ready to stay in local hotels and pensions. But a hotel room is not a cheap pleasure, especially when the planned trip is quite long and includes more than 5 people. For such a case, the Airbnb website was created on which you can independently book an apartment, a small room or a house; this type of accommodation is sometimes more beneficial for a large company than staying at a hotel, although it has its drawbacks, in particular, special attention should be paid to security and choosing the right option, so you need to know in advance what features it has. But let's see what this service is so attractive for tourists.

 • The opportunity to save. Airbnb has a lot of profitable offers, thanks to which renting apartments in any country in the world, including Singapore, is no longer a problem for companies / families of 5 or more people. Here, booking accommodation becomes especially important during the holidays, as the cost of living in hotel rooms is increasing significantly, and the price of rented apartments remains the same. There is also a special one, which is given for the first rental, and allows you to save a little.
 • The ability to rent housing in absolutely any area of the city. Booking apartments allows you to live in a wide variety of housing options. You can rent a choice of apartments located in a skyscraper, ordinary apartments, detached villas and attics, large cottages and even yachts. There is also a budget option - a room in the apartment. So to speak, you can choose housing for every taste and budget.
 • An unforgettable experience and experience. Renting an apartment through Airbnb, you can plunge into the atmosphere of the country's traditions, expand your horizons and gain valuable experience. Removable housing in Singapore is a great opportunity to appreciate the features and quality of life.
 • Communication with the owner of the apartment will allow you to improve your own knowledge of the language. Thus, you can clarify information about the location of a particular attraction, learn something from the history of the country, about real prices and life principles of Singapore.

In conclusion, I would like to note that the Arenby service is an excellent assistant not only for the selection and rental of housing, but can also become a real lifesaver for you. While you are traveling the world, you can also rent your own apartment without intermediaries through this site, which will allow you to cover, for example, expenses for the same trip.

Here is a list of the most memorable attractions in Singapore:

Travel Documents

If you visit Singapore in transit and intend to stay in the country for less than 96 hours, then a visa is not required. Upon arrival at the airport of this country, you will be given a transit visa, if you have:

 • Availability of a ticket for a specific date in a third country
 • Passport with a blank page and valid for more than 6 months
 • Means for staying in Singapore or confirmed hotel reservations for the entire stay

A trip will be considered as transit only if it is confirmed by an air ticket to a third country. For example, from Moscow fly to Singapore, and then from Singapore to Bangkok (Moscow - Singapore - Bangkok) - on this route you will be issued a transit visa. But if the route is as follows: Moscow-Singapore-Moscow, then you can’t count on a transit visa, you will have to draw up an ordinary one.

It is important to know that some low-cost carriers (for example, AirAsia) in all cases require a regular visa, even if you fly to Singapore in transit, so always check this item with the airline. If you still counted on a transit visa and bought a ticket from a low-cost airline, but you are not allowed to board the plane, then refer to the TIMATIC information system, specifically to the “transit” section (low-cost airlines like to refer to the “entry” section, which indicates that a visa is required to enter, but you have a transit trip). And the best thing is to print these sections and present them in case of problems.

In all other cases, a visa is required. You can get an ordinary visa (non-transit) yourself online. If you need help, then contact Pony Express (they will help you with filling out the application, they will scan all the necessary documents, there are branches of the company throughout Russia).

To Singapore from Asian Resorts

Some travelers who are already on vacation at resorts in the nearest Asian countries (mainly Thailand and Vietnam) use a trick that allows them to get a transit visa even if they return immediately to their resort again. Here is an example of how to get from Thailand to Singapore on your own: you are resting in Bangkok now, but want to drop in for a couple of days in Singapore and return back to Bangkok, then the order is as follows: buy the cheapest return ticket (from Singapore) to any other nearest third country (Malaysia or Indonesia), this will be a confirmation that you are visiting Singapore in transit, and after the trip just do not fly to Malaysia or Indonesia, you can immediately return to Bangkok. True, a ticket to a third country will be lost, but it costs only a couple of tens of dollars, but you don’t have to bother with a visa. This method is mainly used by travelers from Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya.

If you expect to rest in Singapore for more than 4 days, then apply for a regular visa.

Fines

It is important to remember that in Singapore there are very large fines even for minor offenses. If you chew chewing gum in a public place, you will part with $ 500 (Singapore dollars), for a snack in a public place the penalty is the same, for smoking you will have to pay $ 1000, and for transporting a highly flammable substance to a public place will be fined $ 5000 . The fines for motorists are in a wide range, from $ 120 to $ 1,000, there is also a punishment in the form of arrest up to 6 months. For example, if you go to the prohibition signal of a traffic light, then you will part with $ 200.
Everywhere there are signs that show what is forbidden and how much the fine is supposed to be for it, so follow local laws.

Here are some Singapore fines (from $ 500):

 • Throw trash out of the bin
 • Food consumption in a public place
 • Import more than one cigarette blog
 • Launching fireworks in the wrong place
 • Spitting in a public place
 • Excess speed from 50 to 60 km / h by car (up to $ 1000 or arrest up to 6 months)
 • Talking on a cell phone while driving (deprivation of rights or arrest)

Some violations include corporal punishment (punches with a thin stick that leaves marks on the body after the blow), these include: vandalism, attempted murder, armed robbery, violation of immigration law and the length of stay in the country. Also in Singapore there is a death penalty, it is applied in most cases to drug dealers.

Cost of rest

Traveling to Singapore is quite expensive. The main points of expenses are as follows (standard rest per person, per week):

 • Roundtrip flights = 500 €
 • Hotel room (6 nights) = 700 €
 • Food = 150 €
 • Public transport = 100 €
 • Attractions = 200 €
 • Variety of purchases = 250 €
 • Visa = 35 €

How to save on travel

Now you know how to go to Singapore on your own. Use these tips and tricks, they will significantly improve your vacation. Holidays in this country are interesting and rather unusual. Do not postpone the trip, because life goes on, you need to see as many beautiful places on our planet as possible. Best wishes to you!

It happened not just in transit on the way to Indonesia - to the islands Java and Bali , it was a full three-day visit to the most properly organized city in the world. We didn’t set up to run around all the sights, the list of which was practically cemented in my brain after reading a dozen reports and advice from friends. Even popular with tourists Marina Bay we only got in the evening of the second day of stay in Singapore. To each his own, we set priorities so as not to fall off our feet by the end of the day, so moving around the city alternated with relaxing in parks, city gardens and in local bars .

Gates of the city - changi Airport. They say that this is the most successful investment of local authorities, for sure it is so. We flew in the Swiss airline SWISS and impressions about this company are laid out . The choice was made based on the name and price of the ticket - it was “tasty”: Kiev-Zurich-Singapore (2.5 + 13 = 15.5 hours fly) - USD850. If they flew by the Turks they would get a few hours faster, but also more expensive by 300 dollars. At the time of purchase, this was the best deal on the market. 5-hour free bonus docking in Zurich .

I recently learned to sleep on planes on long flights and arrived in Singapore much fresher than last year in Hong Kong . Changi (Changi) - a representative airport and regularly tops the profile ratings. Four luxurious terminals, one of which is completely devoted to low-costers, a free Sky Train between the terminals, and signs and signs will find the way even for those who spent their time in the local wineglass instead of school in childhood.

Walking along the carpet of the arrival hall, I begin to understand that my native Boryspil is at the very beginning of its evolutionary path and is unlikely to even come close to the leader in the near future - too different weight categories. If I were an airport official, I would fly here on business trips to gain experience. After Changi, I’m even thinking about changing my beloved Suvanapumi in Bangkok as a transit hub in Southeast Asia.

Inside, the airport is more reminiscent of the enormous size of the lobby, whether it is a modern cinema, or a reception palace, or a cool high-tech museum. Carpet, fresh air, tropical gardens, various electronic lotions, sculptures. Well, maybe a football or golf course is not enough, but what - the sizes allow.

The huge amount of money invested in the airport does not affect the final price for the consumer, whether it is about food, luggage storage or just about food - everything costs money. I immediately recall the cold ciabatta in Borispol at the price of truffles in a status Kiev restaurant. On the way back, when several coins of local currency rang timidly in our pockets, but we didn’t like it in a childish way, we met only 12.80 local dollars for two per meal (pictured). This is approximately 9 US dollars. For something more authentic than fast food, there was no money left.
Another photo from Changi to understand why you should choose Singapore for transit and kindly envy the happy rested passengers.

How to get from Changi Airport to Singapore, moving around the city

The easiest and most expensive way is a taxi. It is better to use it only upon arrival, when it has not yet entered the urban transport scheme, and we were just too lazy to look for a hotel with backpacks. Delivery of bodies and backpacks cost 25 Singapore dollars. It’s also a simple but cheap way - the MRT metro, at the airport you need to follow the signs - it's hard to miss. So we got back to the departure, completely understanding the city logistics.

Traveling around Singapore is best on metro MRT, the bus is only needed to travel to zooabout it below. The metro covers all major locations. Price varies from distance - a maximum of 1.88 singodollar. For two active travel days, we spent 20 Singapore dollars plus a security deposit for an EX Link card. It can be bought in front of the metro escalator, a minimum deposit of 10 Singapore dollars. At the entrance-exit, the remaining funds are lit on the board. You can recharge through the machine in the same place at the stations. (see photo below)

Choosing a hotel in Singapore.

“In expensive housing” my friends carefully warned me. Yes, if you live on River side or in Marina Bay The price starts at 120 US dollars per double per day in the cheapest hotel. A survey of more advanced travelers brought us to the network of budget hotels “81”, which is often used by those who do not have extra dollars, and the hotel is needed only as a place to sleep. Under the price ceiling I set hotel Lucky 81 in a famous budget area Gaylang - The price is 70 US dollars per double per day.

In the evening, this area is known as the center of prostitution, the compact residence of the Indians and the concentration of nightclubs of the corresponding orientation. Despite the region's vividness and free morals, in reality everything turned out to be surprisingly decent, peaceful and even clean, although there is a little more garbage here than in the rest of Singapore. Hindus peacefully hung out in certain places, all sober, prostitutes with the onset of dusk went out on their watch along the main street. Nobody grabbed anyone by the arms, they didn’t offer drugs and wallets weren’t taken away. In Kiev on Khreshchatyk in the evening it is much more dangerous than in singapore's red light district . Will definitely stay here next time when visiting the city.

Hotel Lucky 81 - An ideal option to spend the night, wash and take a shower. There was even a practically unnecessary TV and an electric kettle, decent internet. The view from the window, of course, was not pleasing to the eye, but the price was pleasantly surprising - $ 70 per day for a double.

Get to the Geilang District very simple - Aljuned metro station, then walk 15 minutes.

Another plus of the district is the presence of a huge number of food courts and food courts. Here, the load was accompanied by a local flavor, the almost complete absence of tourists (a couple of wandering backpackers do not count) and the observation of city life during the meal. Attention! Some establishments do not sell beer, but it is much cleaner and easier to find a place in them - the same establishments, but with the option - beer is usually crowded, especially on Friday-Saturday. And beer will not run away - any 7/11 store is at our service. By the way, here for the first time I saw Indians drinking beer.

A little more about the hotel. For me, the main indicator of the "goodness" of a hotel is my good dream. Hotel by this position Lucky 81 confidently takes the top lines in the ranking. Expectations that the constant background of our night's rest will be screams and the noise of the guests have not been confirmed. Either the isolation of the room is excellent, or the public in calmer than in the same Bangkok or Istanbul. And of course everything is very clean, functional, even the wake-up option works, this is when the staff wakes you up at 6 a.m. at your request.

Singapore Walk Plan

The next day we were going to thoroughly see the city and even made a rough plan. The plan turned out like this:

 • Botanical Garden
 • Orchid garden
 • Little India
 • China Town
 • Santek city
 • Fountain of wealth

Lunch time is best spent at the water - River side and clark Quay with gatherings for beer near the Singapore River.

They planned to end the evening in Marina Bay. The program includes dinner on the waterfront, evening laser show and photo shooting of Singapore's skyscrapers. At first glance, a little, but we were not going to set records for sightseeing.

famous for its draconian fines and this is the first thing your friends will tell you about when they returned from there. You cannot smoke, chew gum or even play gambling in some hotels. Plates are everywhere, although there are many "criminals" smoking on the go, and crossing the road in the wrong place is generally a common topic. Conclusion: we think less about fines, do not violate and enjoy the city, in general we behave ourselves and no troubles threaten us.

We were a little afraid to get stuck in a tourist Marina Bayand given the beauty of the area, we decided to leave it for an evening dessert.

Singapore Botanic Garden

In the meantime, went to the morning Botanical Garden - there is guaranteed there is not a single tourist until 9.00 in the morning and we had time to enjoy the cool and recharge for the whole day. This place is unlikely to suit lovers of movement - it is quiet, beautiful and green. The planned one-hour walk along with the orchid garden turned easily into a three-hour one. Animal photographers - there are many strange birds, athletes, mothers with children, just urban couples who prefer an active morning. All this, of course, is diluted with a dozen or two ubiquitous Chinese tourists. Tourists in such an amount do not pose a danger - there is enough space for everyone.
in addition to flora and fauna, there are sculptural plots - this is Mozart, for example ...
We love orchids and do not pass them anywhere, in the collection of about a dozen different greenhouses with orchids.

How to get to the botanical garden - Singapore Botanic Gardens

Entrance to singapore Botanic Garden - free. It is open from five in the morning until midnight. A ticket is required to the Orchid National Park. Cost for adults - SGD $ 5, for children under 12 years free. The opening hours of the orchid garden are from 8:30 to 19:00. Get to the Botanical Garden You can subway, go to the station Botanic Gardens Station (yellow metro line MRT).

Suntec City and the Fountain of Wealth

You can successfully spend as well as earn. The city is designed in such a way that most of the money is still spent here, providing a good profit for the minority. AT - In addition to conventional tourism, financial tourism is widely developed - the headquarters of most offshore companies are located just in Suntec City. It was also decided that we should touch the place where the financial destinies of half the world are decided at least with one side. It is a fountain of wealth, the world's largest fountain. It strikes more in size than in the elegance of forms, it is not surprising.

The fountain is surrounded by five skyscrapers that resemble a palm. In the photo, two out of five fingers.

How to get to Suntec City

Get to Fountain of Wealth simple - we leave at the station metro promenadeeasy to get from Singapore Botanic Garden non-stop - also a yellow branch. Two steps away is a business complex Suntec city. It consists of five towers, which, with great imagination, resemble widespread fingers. In the center is the largest fountain in the world - the fountain of wealth.

They say the fountain needs to be circled three times in a circle - then you will get rich. I just threw a coin, hoping for a financial "growth" in the future. The fountain itself turns on according to some kind of schedule. We were in no hurry and saw this miracle 10 minutes later. We would have a regular shopping center around the fountain underground, similar to Kiev's “Squares” or “Globes”. AT instead they placed what? Of course a huge food court! Prices are slightly higher than in Gaylang (Aljuned Subway), the assortment is thinner in comparison with other urban places. But here is delicious coffee and pastries.

Little india & china town

The essence of the Little India and Chinatown districts is an organic combination of vibrant houses, colorful alleys, temples and small eden cafes. And without each other, all this is unlikely to exist, and all together create a unique flavor of the ethnic city block. The Singapore version of Little India is much milder than its counterpart in Kuala Lumpur: less dirt, trash and exotic.

What to do in Little India - Singapore? Wandering around the area, looking at local jewelry shops, wondering once again how two-three-story shacks get along with skyscrapers in the neighborhood, the bravest dare to dine at a local Tamil cafe.

As in real India, everything here is very bright and beautiful in appearance ... Mostly Tamils live here. Street food in little India is the only place where I did not dare to experiment on myself and waited China Town - gastronomic mecca . China Town we liked more, no offense to the Indians. Here is a traditional place to eat. There are many Thai cafes with traditional Tom Yam soup, as spicy and tasty as in the homeland, Singha beer and special comfort, as for me. China Town - this is another opportunity to look at the skyscrapers of Singapore from the side, in the immediate vicinity of the skyscraper Marina Bay Sands and Clark quay.

The Chinese are not confused by the presence in their quarter of the Indian temple Sri Mariamman (Sri Mariamman Temple, 244, South Bridge Road). The entrance fee is a symbolic, but harmless requirement to take off your shoes in fact turned out to be an insidious trash - the temperature of the asphalt almost reached the state of a hot baking sheet on which the Chinese fry chicken wings. It is clear that for a long time I did not stay there, although the temple itself is beautiful and charismatic. Going out in short dashes along the shadowy side of the courtyard and contemplating the figures stuck around the building like apples on a tree in a fruitful year.

Benches China Town As bright as the whole quarter, the assortment was not surprising, but if you want to find souvenirs and clothes for a trip to the islands, it’s easy. I really like to walk between rows in the streets and watch people, occasionally interrupting the unhurried process of walking with a bottle of ice beer. A traditional activity in local cafes is watching the public. Tourists are at a minimum, and local characters come across quite colorful.

To get into Singapore China Town you need to go to the MRT station of the same name. You can go first to Little India (MRT), and then go on foot to Chinatown - this option is better. The sequence is also the same, after a half-hour walk through little India, what more to do there, I don’t know, we went on foot to China Town and here you can spend an hour or two depending on the goals.

AT China Town there are no conventions - foot massage successfully coexists with a seafood restaurant and a shop selling cheap T-shirts, no rushing metropolis and crowds of tourists. I saw a Thai cafe - we went by old memory. The tablecloth is successfully played by the map of Thailand, which is just a couple of hours away, a fan over your head and foggy glasses of beer - that’s all Asian comfort. By the way, the price of beer is slightly cheaper than in the pro-European region Clark quaythat on the waterfront singapore rivers.

The lack of conventions applies to visiting local temples. There was a service, there were no prohibitions, and we stopped by the chanting of mantras. Praying people were not embarrassed by strangers with cameras, no dress code and entrance fees - for some reason I again remember the Kiev Pechersk Lavra. The praying audience was immersed in a trance and no one paid attention to what was happening around. Monotonous mantras echoed for another half an hour in my head mixed with car horn and voices. In short - I remember.

Spiritual food here is closely adjacent to the earth, near the temple there is no less important attraction - the main street of food - Chinatown Food Street with a full range of the finest Asian cooking. You can't just lure a hungry man out of here. Hence the recommendation is to attend China Town more convenient in the afternoon, combining a walk with lunch. Get a little more expensive than a meal in gailang District (the quarter where our hotel was located, metro aljuned) (see the beginning of the report)

Multinational city and if tired China Town And not quite pure little India can always spend money on truly European entertainment. Museums were not part of our plans - well, honestly, they need at least one more day. Shopping at the famous Orchard road not even considered because of the meager budget and the lack of needs at that time. Choose the embankment of the Singapore River - the area Clark Quay. This is a congestion area of Europeans of all nationalities, but the main movement begins after sunset - the local bars are the most popular in the city. And in the region of 16 hours in all Happy hours establishments there is complete calm and all sorts of tasty bonuses in the form of discounts for beer or snacks. Such an easy lull before the evening "storm", which we took advantage of.
Alcohol in Singapore is expensive everywhere, so more than two glasses of my credit card can hardly be mastered - the price of beer is from 8 to 15 Singapore dollars, compared to cheap Thailand or Cambodia, draconian. Surely we didn’t spend these three hours very competently, wandering along the promenade, drinking local beer. From the point of view of an organized tourist, it’s practically a crime, but it was good for the two of us together - this is the main thing, isn't it.

This house with colorful shutters is actually some kind of ministry. And this is in the mega-modern and serious Singapore!
And this is an Armenian church, we stumbled upon it unexpectedly, sat alone on a bench, thought about the frailty of tourist life and why everyone sticks like flies to honey to Marina Bay! There are a million places in the city where we felt good.
 Hotel Marina Bay Sands
looks more like a giant metro station and can be seen in the distance ...

Marina bay

It seems the Singapore authorities have found a way to localize tourists in one place. 90% of the visiting people are concentrated in Marina Bay and try to prove the opposite. As the saying goes: "And the sheep (local residents) are safe and the wolves (tourists) are full." Moreover, they are literally full, in the area of the Marina Bay embankment, most places of mass eating of crabs, Lax soup and other local delicacies are concentrated. To find a free table at lunch time, and it is here from 11 a.m. until sunset, is impossible even theoretically, not that practically. Just not for us, seasoned in the struggle for a place in the sun in Kiev traffic jams and crowded metro.

Just half an hour after choosing a food court, we already enjoy the real black pepper pepper crab - a signature dish that is prepared in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Black pepper crab is the local gastronomic height, which you can conquer for only 15-20 singodollars apiece. For the sake of crabs, we once again abandoned banal lobsters and did not lose.

Gnawing claws with my teeth, I got to the most tender crab meat and literally sucked everything to the last molecule from its extremities. By the middle of the meal, the hands were up to the elbow in the sauce and spices with which the crabs were heartily spiced. There were two, two handsome men, who arrived from the shores of Sri Lanka just to be eaten by two fans of Asian food on the Marina Bay embankment.

By the way, contrary to popular belief, living in Marina Bay better not in a hotel Marina Bay Sands , which inside looks like a huge shopping center, but, for example, in a hotel Mandarin Oriental . It is located on the opposite side of Marina Bay and it is from its balconies and terraces that the best view of the bay, evening laser show and marina Bay Sands Hotel . Prices in the five-star hotels there start from $ 400 for a modest standard, so if there isn’t such money, it’s better to settle like we are in simpler areas.

The duration of the laser show is only 15 minutes - I didn’t even know the schedule, I was just lucky. They arrange it on Fridays and Saturdays three times a night: 20:00, 21:30 and 23:00. On other days, only twice - at 20:00 and at 21:30. It's free. We saw something similar in Hong Kong, skyscrapers were painted with lasers there, laser cartoons were shown here on an unusual theater building.

I really like the top views of the city, but the phone was bursting with warnings about the ever-decreasing limit on both of my credit cards. The fact that they saved on the hotel was long ago eaten and drunk, the rest of the budget quietly merged into the passage, entrances and souvenirs. One cannot embrace the immense and get around Singapore in two days, especially since the second day is almost entirely devoted to the zoo and relaxation before a long flight to your homeland.

For the above reason, a trip to the observation deck hotel Marina Bay Sands was postponed to the next visit, which is due to take place. In the same short waiting list is set sentosa Island with its tourist attractions in the form of an aquarium, a show of excavators, restaurants and a luxurious beach. But walked through the gardens near the bay - the last miracle of Singaporean engineering ...

Singapore ZOO

About him did not hear only those who did not want to hear or are indifferent to zoos. And we love and do not miss in almost every city in which fate brings us. Before that, in my personal rating of zoos, the highest places were occupied by Berlin and Vienna, but Singapore is more than a zoo, it is a luxury hotel for animals from around the world with a complete imitation of the natural environment. Details about him on my blog - Singapore Zoo - Five Star Pet Hotel

Practical information: How to get to the Singapore Zoo?

The easiest way for the lazy and wealthy - taxi, the road will cost in SGD $ 25-30 if you go from the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. It is unsportsmanlike and expensive.

By public transport: MRT metro to Choa Chu Kang station, then bus number 927, which will take you directly to the zoo, or MRT metro to Ang Mo Kio station, then bus number 138. Approximate time 50 minutes, buses run on schedule. Stop number 927 is on the left when exiting the subway 50 meters away. In buses, they are also calculated by EZ Link cards, and you need to conduct it through the terminal at the entrance (the maximum fare is read) and at the exit (the unused amount is returned). The price of the bus is about 20 cents, the metro is SGD $ 1.88.

Once you get to the zoo in the morning or at lunch, feeding animals is another free show. At this time, even crocodile monsters come to life, which usually lie on the banks of the river with logs. The cult character of the zoo polar bear - the average citizen of the Earth can easily envy his presidential suite with a swimming pool, 5 meals a day and animation.

There are no cells, a fence and other barriers. Naturally, the highest rating for mobility and emotionality in primates. After observing the orangutans, I no longer want to see Sumatra, look at the forest man in the wild. A complete imitation of the natural conditions of the Indonesian jungle, better than any quality animal movie. The planned 3 hours at the Zoo somehow suddenly turned into almost 6 hours.

Practical Information About Singapore Zoo

You can have lunch near the zoo, though you have to pay a wild sum of $ 40 for fast food for two without drinks. Therefore, before the zoo, we dined in normal Asian food courts, but you can drink beer there. Prices are equally high everywhere. It is better to take water with you.

After Singapore and the subsequent trip to Indonesia, I realized that you should safely add at least one to two hours and about 20-30 dollars to the planned visit to each object of interest in such a city as Singapore. The proximity of objects and points of interest to each other is only apparent, and the sights themselves or just city blocks make them roam much longer than planned. Ideal - do not plan at all, but instead get ready to give your time.

Review of Singapore

Singapore did not become “mine on the board” for these incomplete three days, but confidently took a place in my TOP-5 megacities of the world. Here we fell into childhood, became adults again, enjoyed the warmth, local architecture, ethnic color, fine beer and freedom, without thinking about anything else. What I wish to all readers.

Budget Housing in Singapore

Budget Accommodation or Hotels in Singapore cheaper to search through the reservation system Hotels Combined (Room Guru) , a service that I use myself. The advantage of the service is that it compares the prices of dozens of booking systems - you just have to choose the best offer. In each article or report, I give links to hotels I have stayed in and which I liked. We lived in a hotel 81 lucky on Geylang Street - the "red light district", there are no comments, the level of comfort is minimal, but sufficient for an overnight stay (TV, shower, clean bed, window, internet, phone). Of the benefits - in this area very tasty and cheap food.

How to get to Singapore

Air travel from Kiev can be bought directly from SWISS, for example, but it’s best to take advantage of flight offers for direction Kiev-Singapore from aviasales.ru, the aggregator which I use myself. The service selects the most advantageous offers - you just have to choose the best one by price, departure time or airline.

Singapore - one of the most interesting cities on the planet, is also a country. Moreover, the country is the smallest and, at the same time, the richest in Asia. On top of that, Singapore is also recognized as the greenest Asian city. Although everyone should visit here once, it is true that once will be completely insufficient.

What is interesting about this city-state? The ultra-modern metropolis is almost at the equator, striking with a variety of cultures and traditions. It has long been inhabited by the Chinese, Malays and Indians, it has replenished with workers, tourists and business people from around the world. Almost all religions of the world are represented here, with the complete absence of interfaith friction.

Compared to neighboring countries, Singapore is much more expensive, but several orders of magnitude cleaner, more convenient, safer. Everything here is so well organized that even just being in the city is a pleasure. And to enjoy all this, it is enough to observe only one small rule - do not litter.

In Singapore it is hot at any time of the year, but air conditioners work in any room, and street galleries save not only from rain, but also from the scorching sun.

The country is considered the second most secure in the world, after Luxembourg. Nothing threatens children (as well as adults), but there is something to show them and how to entertain. The only inconvenience is the long road here.

Prices for holidays in Singapore. September 2018

tour cost

I like to travel on my own, carefully study the information on the Internet, write a program and look for profitable options. We decided to interestingly celebrate her husband’s birthday and went to Singapore.

Tour to Singapore for 7 nights. 2 adults + 1 child (3 years).

Tourist visa - 60 $ / passport. It is issued and paid online. There are other visa options, but for 7 nights, only a standard tourist visa is suitable.

Air ticket Moscow - Singapore - Moscow, 32500Р / person. Economy class. With a change. The best price. One of the best airlines.

Transfer airport - hotel, online taxi 26S $ / one way. I downloaded the Singapore taxi app on my phone in advance. At the airport, upon arrival, I exchanged money in an exchanger and bought a SIM card. So I was immediately in touch.

Hotel Marina Bay Sands Singapore 24000Р / day. We took only one night, specifically for a birthday.

Hotel five / 6 Hotel Splendour 5400Р / day. For the remaining 6 nights they took a modest but very decent hotel with an affordable location for sightseeing.

We traveled with a small child, so only online taxis were used to travel around the country. Very cost effective and comfortable.

All sights visited independently.

Accommodation at the Marina Bay Sands Singapore hotel is already one of the most interesting excursions. While living at the hotel we could visit the legendary pool of Singapore. Located in the bar which is above the paid observation deck of this hotel. Walk in the garden Garden by the bay, the main territory of which is free to visit. In the evenings, the Garden Rhapsodio Show is free.

Visit Forest Forest + Flower Dome Garden by the bay separately. 2 Dome entry Pass 1136Р / person. Baby is free.

Light, water and laser shows near Marina Bay Sands Singapore are free.

Singapore Flyer Flight + Universal Studios Singapore. Package two in one for 4692P / person.

Transfer was carried out by online taxi. I booked entrance tickets in advance with a discount over the Internet.

Food and Products

The cost in the restaurant of the shopping center located next to the Marina Bay Sands Singapore hotel was the same as in the hotel. Therefore, we did not waste time. And dined in their room with a view of the city. For example, pizza 800 rubles.

When booking the hotel, I left a note about the birthday. We made a complement for dinner - a small cake.

Near the hotel there is something like an Asian open air food court. The cost of 400 rubles per dish.

Total money spent on vacation

The impression of a vacation in March

We spent a wonderful three weeks in Singapore (Sentosa) in March, went to Thailand, it was quite hot and humid. Good time for swimming - the water was very warm, 28 degrees, the air was about the same. Caught several festivals - really liked it. Good time for a beach holiday, there was little rain. It should be borne in mind that the sun is very strong, even dark-skinned people burn themselves instantly.

Vacation with children

Many museums, a beautiful zoo, convenient entertainment centers. The beaches, although large, but medium, but calm and very warm water. There are good beach rides, which is not common. Exceptionally good and comfortable for walking parks.

Youth vacation

A busy nightlife, many places where youth are concentrated, for example Siloso Beach - with music and bars. A large selection of adult rides designed for iron health and no less iron nerves. Many discos, bars, clubs. Good conditions for diving.

Family holiday

The resort has an interesting shopping experience, many places where the whole family will be fine. Comfortable conditions for swimming. The country is safe and calm.

What to take with you on vacation?

Be sure to take a sunscreen, even if you are already tanned and you have dark skin. The sun is stronger than the Canary, you scorch quickly and imperceptibly.

Comfortable shoes and good mood.

Where is better to stay?

It depends on what is the main purpose of relaxation. The island is small, the western part is more noisy, the eastern one is calmer. Hotels are quite expensive, so if you want to save money, it is better to rent a condo in neighboring Singapore, and go swimming (or walking on the bridge) to Sentosa. Moreover, the main part of the country is also very interesting. We lived in Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa - from 5-star it is one of the inexpensive, but quite decent.

What to do with yourself at the resort?

Firstly, the island can be reached by cable car or monorail.

Near Imbiah Lookout is the Tiger Sky tower - you can climb to a height of 131 meters. Laser shows take place all over the island. The whole island is very suitable for walking, entertainment at every turn. We really liked the Aquarium and Universal Studio.

The overall impression of the beaches is good - well maintained, clean, safe. The water is very warm, so it is better to swim in the evening, afternoon and in the water you can get a sunstroke and decently burn. Cheeky and smug peacocks stroll along the beaches. The beaches are free, at all you can buy drinks and food, rent sunbeds.

The largest is Silos Beach, it is quite noisy, it has a convenient entry into the water, a lot of entertainment.

We rested more on the beach of Palawan, the youngest son was only a year and a half, we wanted a quieter place for the youth of Soloso. There are many children's entertainment, you can go on the bridge to a small island. Children really enjoyed running on a long suspension bridge.

Most of all I liked the beach of Tajong - the most calm and quiet.

In my opinion, the water is unclear, there are islands nearby without an abundance of entertainment, but with the best swimming.

What can i buy?

We bought almost nothing on Sentosa itself, it seemed to me that in the main part of Singapore the choice was cheaper and more interesting.

Global brands cost about the same as ours, there are not many local ones, but there are interesting ones. Pay attention to Eu Yan Sang cosmetics - good, we haven’t seen her. I would not go specifically for shopping - there isn’t much cheapness or a huge choice.

About product prices

I bought two pairs of shoes of the local DMK brand - both within 40 SGD, nice, but inferior to esso in terms of convenience.

I bought several dresses in Chinese and Indian style, unusual skirts. All from 30 to 130 local dollars.

Where can I eat?

In general - clean, tasty, there is a different cuisine. The food in food courts is the cheapest, but I didn't like it at all.

At the hotel we were advised to go to Din Tai Fung - the usual good Chinese restaurant. We drove more to Singapore restaurants - it was cheaper and more varied there.

About the quality of food and service

The service is friendly, fast enough, not cheated. Really great selection of places to eat. Loved the oyster omelet.

How much does it cost to eat? About food prices.

The cost of food in restaurants ranged from 80 to 140 local dollars for two.

Entertainment

Universal Studios park is worth a separate day of visiting, there are attractions for all ages, many unusual shows. Adult ticket costs 74 SGD, child 54 SGD.

I was very impressed with the oceanarium - I have not seen better anywhere in Europe. An adult ticket costs 38 SGD, a child costs 28 SGD. At the oceanarium you can see the free maritime museum - we liked it.

The water park is quite decent, but not huge, our children liked it.

You can go to Fort Siloso for free; moreover, they conduct good excursions there. The museum is made lively and interesting, especially the boys will like it.

There is an interesting historical museum, unfortunately, we looked at it badly - the children were quickly tired, but I would be back.

Pros of relaxation in Sentosa

A soft version of the Asian holiday, adapted for the European tourist, a large selection of food and accommodation for a different budget. A good place to explore all of Singapore, you can go to neighboring Thailand.

Cons of relaxation in Sentosa

Too Disneyland, I like the more chamber hotels and beaches. The show was bothering me.

Is it worth it to relax in Sentosa?

We’ll still go to Singapore, but next time I want to rent an apartment in a good condo in Singapore - it’s more convenient, cheaper, more space. At the same time, the resort is good - bright, memorable, conveniently and safely planned.
