Entertainment on Koh Samui in the evening. How to go to Samui on your own

Detailed instructions for those who want to go to Samui on their own, but do not know how. What to expect from a vacation or wintering, when and why to go, what to see, how to plan everything yourself and much more.

If you still prefer a package vacation, you can choose and book a ticket on this site. But even in this case, I advise you to study the article, you will find a lot of useful)

What is this island and why go to Samui

Samui is located in the Thai province of Surat Thani. This is a large island of the Gulf of Thailand, located next to Phangan, Tao and the islands of Angthong National Park.

Tourism infrastructure is well developed, and continues to develop every year. Unfortunately, the island also rises in price every year. Nevertheless, it is suitable for travelers with completely different budgets, there is a large selection of accommodation, places to eat and have a good time, different beaches, natural attractions.

Samui is rich in beautiful beaches, from secluded bounty options to large popular beaches with sunbeds, water attractions, bars and discos. There are calm options, where it is always shallow - they prefer to go there with children, there are beaches where it is generally impossible to swim - but it is insanely beautiful there, there are those where you can splash in the waves. There are great places for sunsets.

This is the beauty of the island - that the beaches are very different. And you are sure to find one that will appeal to you. The central part of the island consists of hills up to 600 meters high.

When to go to Samui - monthly weather

The climate of Samui is different from other areas of Thailand. In November and sometimes in December it is relatively cool (+ 23-27) and a lot of rain. But the weather can bring surprises - during our wintering there were heavy rains at the end of January and in July.

The driest and hottest months are April and May (up to + 35-40). The highest prices and an abundance of tourists - from December to March, they say that many Europeans come to the resort in the summer - but it seemed to me that there are less people in the summer than in the winter and spring.

Heavy rains occur during the rainy season, but not every day and not always for the whole day. Water in the sea becomes more turbid and waves rise.

In general, the temperature does not differ much by month and no matter what time you arrive, both the air and the water in the sea will be at least not cold. All year round you can go in a T-shirt and shorts.

How to get to Koh Samui

Once you decide on the dates of the trip - buy tickets. The sooner you take care of this issue, the more chances to fly away are profitable.

Samui is 700 km from Bangkok and 350 km from Phuket. It is to these cities that flights come from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus. There is also an airport on Koh Samui that belongs to Bangkok Airways - therefore they are monopolists, a flight to Koh Samui is possible only with a transfer and costs pretty well.

You can buy a plane ticket directly from your city to Samui.

It usually costs more, but more convenient and faster. If you are not strictly attached to certain dates, then it is convenient to search for cheap tickets to Samui using the low price calendar. You need to enter in the form of the city of departure and arrival (Samui), the duration of the stay - and the table displays the lowest cost of air tickets for the month - round-trip prices are considered.

Click on the appropriate month, select the dates and go to the website to select and order tickets.

We did just that - flew to Bangkok, stayed overnight at the hotel. in the morning flew to Surat Thani - and then by ferry to the island. And back the same way. I also advise you to spend the night in Bangkok, if time allows - the road will be transported much easier.

Buying round-trip tickets is usually more profitable than separately there and then separately back, so if you know the date of return, it is better to immediately take tickets in both directions.

Visa

Detailed information in the article ““.

In short, then:

 • citizens of the Russian Federation are given a free stamp for 30 days, if desired, can be extended on the island for another 7 days for 1900 baht. For a trip of more than 30 days, you need to get a visa at the Thai Embassy.
 • ukrainian citizens can get a visa upon arrival for 15 days for 1000 baht. For a trip of more than 15 days, you need to get a visa at the Thai Embassy.
 • belarusian citizens need to apply for a visa at the embassy in advance, regardless of the duration of the trip.

Which beach to choose

You can find out more about the features of each beach in the article "Samui Areas".

The choice of beach depends on various aspects:

 • Transport. If you will rent a car or a bike, then all the points of the island are open to you. But there are not so many areas where everything you need is within walking distance.
 • Infrastructure. How important is the presence or vice versa of the absence of shops, restaurants, banks and other benefits of civilization.
 • Possibility to swim on the beach. In addition to the proximity of housing to the sea, it is important to consider how this beach behaves, since not everyone can swim. For example, in spring in Nathon ebbs for several kilometers.

The most popular places where tourists prefer to live and relax:, Bo Put,.

 • Chaweng and Chaweng Noi - the most popular, party areas. There are many bars, restaurants, cafes, shops, a large beach.
 • Lamai is a little quieter. There are waves on both beaches in winter.
 • Chaweng, Lamai and Maenam are places where you can live quite comfortably without renting a transport.
 • Maenam is popular among winterers, especially among families with small children.
 • Also, with children often go to Ban Tai and Chong Mon.
 • Lipa Noah and everything farther south are sparsely populated places, there is almost nothing there except endless coconut palms. The beaches are mostly unsuitable for swimming, but beautiful.
 • We have lived six months on - and I really like this place in many ways. The sea is within walking distance, the beach is at least not bounty, but swimming. Beautiful sunsets. Shops and the market are within walking distance, and large shops and other beaches are not far away. Bonus - planes fly over the house, but probably not everyone will like it)

If you are traveling to Samui for a few weeks, you can try to live in different parts of the island.

How to Find Accommodation - Hotels and Houses on Koh Samui

If you go to Samui for 2-3 weeks, there is no point in looking for a house - it will be much easier and more convenient to stay at a hotel. There are a lot of interesting offers, but searches should be done in advance.

You can select and book a room here (compare the prices shown for Booking, Agoda, and other systems and choose the best):

If you plan to stay longer on the island, you need a house. About how to find him, I wrote in the article ““. Book a hotel for several days, rent a bike or a car - and find a house without intermediaries. At the peak of the season, many options are busy, but you can still find, verified.

How to get to your hotel in Koh Samui

The airport is located in the northeast of Koh Samui, the Nathon and Lipa Noi piers (if you get by ferry) are in the west. In any case, to get to the hotel you will have to use a taxi / transfer service.

 • The cheapest option is the minibus. Paid directly at the airport of Samui or Surat Thani, you can also pay at the pier. It costs about 150-200 baht per person.
 • Order a transfer through Kiwitaxi. The method is convenient because you do not need to worry and agree on the spot, you will be met with a sign, loaded with luggage and taken where necessary. There are small cars and minivans. Everything is easy and clear.
 • A taxi costs between 400 and 1200 baht depending on the area.
 • When booking a hotel, you can be offered a shuttle service, but as a rule, it costs even more than a taxi).

Transport on Samui

What is public transport on Samui, I wrote. Spoiler: It is practically absent.

The most popular way to move around the island is motorbikes. They can be rented at almost every step, the price is 150-300 baht per day. I do not advise you to go to rentals that require a passport as a deposit.

You can rent a car, especially if you are traveling with a company / or with children / or have never ridden a bike and do not want to start. The easiest way to rent a car in international rentals. Prices are about the same as those of private owners, but you do not need to look for reviews, to deal with nuances and insurance.

Insurance

When entering Thailand, no one will require you to have an insurance policy, whether or not to issue it - you decide.

You can apply for a policy online.

If something happens to you, but there is no insurance, contact the state hospital in Nathon, where prices are much lower than in private ones. In private clinics, it’s very expensive to get sick, and it’s better not to go there without insurance)

Ambulance call is paid. There are few different specialists on the island, but they are still there.

Some people advise going to Surat Thani hospital if something serious. I can neither confirm nor deny the information - on my island I had only the experience of contacting doctors related to pregnancy and.

These services are not covered by insurance, but we bought it just in case. Thank God, it didn’t come in handy - but its presence adds peace of mind.

sights

There are many different sights on Samui, both natural and man-made.

Most of them can be visited on their own, but if desired, you can book a tour. You will be taken, entertained, and fed.

I will list the list of main attractions. I do not pretend to be complete, but I think that a lot is included)

Temples

A tropical holiday begins immediately at the airport, which can be safely called a local attraction that deserves attention. The departure and arrival areas of this international airport, which serves at least one million passengers a year, have virtually no indoor premises. All modern functionality is perfectly organized under awnings, among flower beds and fountains. At this moment, a long exhausting flight and all the problems are forgotten.

Where to stay on Koh Samui

Samui offers guests five-star luxury hotels, and comfortable hotels, and bungalows a few meters from the sea. Hotel service on Samui is exemplary regardless of the number of stars. Due to the small size of the island, you can get from any point to the airport or attractions in no more than half an hour.

What sights are there on Koh Samui

Among the most interesting sights of Koh Samui are the most beautiful waterfalls Hin Lad and Na Muang, lost in the jungle. Muang is located on the territory of a natural park, before you can ride on an SUV with guides or take a walk on an elephant. In addition, the park has a snake and crocodile farm.

Hin Lad Waterfall is located near the city of Nathon. You can get to it only on foot, walking along the path in the jungle for about two hours. The waterfall consists of multi-level cascades that end with a pool.

Those who like to snorkel and enjoy the beauty of uninhabited tropical islands should definitely visit the Ang Thong marine reserve. This is a unique complex of 42 islands, mostly consisting of limestone. The height of some of them above sea level is 400 meters. From the observation deck offers a beautiful view of the Emerald Lake of volcanic origin and sheer cliffs.

Those who are going to visit cultural attractions will find a 12-meter-high gilded statue of the Big Buddha - not only a bait for tourists, but also a place of worship for the inhabitants of the island. This is definitely worth remembering when visiting this architectural complex. Locals are obligated to take off their shoes before going up to the Big Buddha - tourists should not neglect this rule either.

High in the mountains is Magic Garden, a real gallery of stone sculptures along the bed of a mountain river. According to legend, the park was founded in 1976 by a local resident who, already at a venerable age, decided to master stone carving. Fourteen years have been devoted to creating a composition depicting scenes from the life of Buddha and paradise. Now the garden is open to all comers for a nominal fee, collected for the restoration of statues.

Entertainment on Koh Samui is so diverse that you can talk about them for a long time. But even an ordinary walk along the beach will leave an unforgettable impression and will allow you to feel the atmosphere of joy and serenity reigning on the island.

So, first, let's see where the attractions are concentrated in order to make the best route.

2. Temple complexes

2.1. Big buddha

A huge Buddha statue 12 meters high is the hallmark of the island! This place is a must see! The statue is located on a hilltop on a small island connected to the dam island. The territory of the complex is small and consists mainly of shops with souvenirs and clothes.

Sorry, the photo does not convey the scale of the statue:

And from the platform where the statue of the Big Buddha is installed, a stunning view opens up, so it’s worth to come here if only for his sake:

By the way, a visit to the Big Buddha statue is usually included in a sightseeing tour of Samui, so if you want to immediately see several attractions and the format of the excursions you like, you can go, for example, to.

2.2. Wat Plai Laem

But if we talk about the temple complexes of Samui, then still the coolest and most interesting place is the temple of Play Laem. The complex is located near the Big Buddha, so you can combine visits to these two places (and at the same time compare where interesting).

Lake at Wat Plai Laem:

The temple complex has a large territory on which a variety of huge figures are located, there is a lake (where you can ride a catamaran, as well as feed the fish).

Sculpture of the goddess Kuan Yin:

It is nice to just walk here, plunging into the atmosphere of Buddhism. The complex was built recently, but despite this it is really very cool here! If, for example, you are with children, then at Wat Play Laem it will definitely be more interesting than at the Big Buddha.

All the detailed information is there. And you can see the option with a guided tour or.

2.3. Mummified Monk

In fact, there are several mummified monks on Samui, but the most famous is in the small Khunaram temple. It became so popular with tourists simply because it is well located - not far from the turn to Namuang Waterfalls.

Honestly, I don’t know what to watch there, the sight is creepy - the monk is completely visible, his eyes, however, are closed with glasses, but nonetheless, the entertainment is so-so.

2.4. Magic garden

In the magic garden there are many stone sculptures of Buddhas, various animals, demons and ancient deities. All this is shrouded in vines, and the stone buildings are covered with moss, so the place seems really very mysterious and mysterious. If you come here in the evening, it will be a little creepy.

To get to the garden, you need to go towards Paradise park, following the signs. Admission is 80 baht, children are free.

3. Natural attractions

3.1. Namuang and Namuang Waterfall 2

Namuang 1 and Namuang 2 waterfalls are located in one place, only Namuang 2 is higher. Most tourists, of course, stop at Namuang 1 Waterfall, and do not rise higher.

The waterfalls are not really that impressive, but the nature around them is worth a visit. Namuang 1 falls directly into a small natural pool where you can swim. The bottom, however, is not visible there, so it can be a little creepy.

Mom was really scared to climb into the water alone!

On the other hand, it all depends on the time of visit, it is best to go there in the early morning, when excursions are not yet conducted. Otherwise, you risk getting into the “rush hour” when there will be 20 more people in this pool besides you:

The beauty of the waterfalls also depends on the time of year - in summer, waterfalls dry out from the heat and turn into thin streams. We never caught a chic waterfall:

A visit to the waterfalls is also included in most sightseeing tours in Samui. You can see what else includes a sightseeing tour, and you can also find out the prices.

3.2. Rocks Grandparents

We never reached these rocks, and it’s not very clear what is so interesting there. Just a few rocks, in shape very reminiscent of male and female genitals ... But in general, the place is very popular, all tourist excursions (for example, this one for $ 38) include a visit to these rocks. So if you want to execute the maximum program on the island, then go there too.

3.3. Beaches

This is really the main attraction (if I may say so) of the whole island. Because they go to Samui first of all to lie on a beautiful beach, run along the snow-white sand - in general, enjoy a beach holiday.

Lamai Beach:

There are a lot of beaches on Samui, if you wish, you can go around everything, because they are very different from each other. If you think that any first beach you get will be like a Bounty picture, then you will find disappointment. The beaches are different - the party Chaweng, the family Maenam, the popular Lamai, there are also a bunch of small beaches. Everything is different - entry into the water, the presence of algae and debris (although it most likely depends on the season and the tides), the quality of sand (from large yellow to small gray-white).

4. Where to see animals

4.1. Paradise park

Paradise Park is one of the best places on the island! This is definitely must see for any category of travelers. It has everything - and stunning diverse nature (there are not so many different types of plants in any place on the island!), A contact zoo, a playground, and a panoramic pool with a breathtaking view:

You can take pictures with exotic birds or colored pigeons:

The territory is very large, you can spend here half a day (or even a whole day), walking around the picturesque places. The park is located in mountainous terrain, the whole territory is at different levels, so you will have to overcome more than one hundred steps, going down and up to get around everything:

Very cool place, more photos, as well as useful information with prices, how to get, etc. located .

You can get there either on your own (on a bike or a rented car), or. If you ride a bike (as we did), then be very careful - the road is difficult, and not every bike will pull all these steep climbs.

4.2. Safari park

Safari Park is much more popular than Paradise Park, but despite this, it greatly disappointed me. In this park you can watch 5 different shows with animals, ride an elephant (or take a photo with it), but at every step you will have to pay for everything, even if you are traveling with.

Elephant riding:

The territory is small, there are not so many animals. But, nevertheless, if you have not been to such shows, it may be interesting.

You can also make beautiful photos:

All contacts, detailed information, our impressions and video shows can be viewed at.

4.3. Zoo and aquarium

It is located not far from Lamai beach and in the first place, of course, it will be interesting for children. The zoo and the aquarium are on the same territory, but judging by the reviews, most of it is still an aquarium. There are not so many animals, so if you have been to large zoos and aquariums, you will not see anything particularly impressive here.

In addition to visiting animals and marine life, you can also see shows with animals (fur seals, tigers, birds). The ticket costs in the area 750 baht (adult) and 450 baht (child), for the entire time of the visit, lay no more than an hour.

If you are not particularly interested in marine life, then, in my opinion, it is much more interesting (and even cheaper!) To go to Paradise Park, where you can easily spend half a day!

4.4. Crocodile farm

There is also a crocodile farm on the island where you can watch shows with crocodiles and snakes. It is located in the airport area, the entrance ticket costs 500 baht,. It is probably better to immediately go to the Safari Park - there will immediately be snakes, and crocodiles, and monkeys with elephants.

5. Observation Decks (View Point)

In fact, there are many viewpoints on Koh Samui - starting from Lad Kho (on the ring road between Chaweng and Lamai), ending with views from Paradise Park, located high in the mountains. You can simply ride around the island on the ring road, stopping in beautiful places, or you can go specifically for lunch or dinner in a cafe with a beautiful view. Among these cafes, the most popular is Gekko Bar, located in the Bo Phut area.

And I wrote about our beloved viewpoint, from there a stunning view of the sea opens:

6. Excursions

If the time spent on Samui is limited, but you want to see more, it is better to go on one of the complex excursions in order to see as much as possible in the minimum time.

The benefits of organized excursions - a maximum of attractions, the included transfer directly from the hotel, and, most often, a Russian-speaking guide.

Well and among the minuses - limited time for each stop and a slightly higher cost.

6.1. Island Jeep Safari

You can go for half a day or for a whole day.

What is included in this tour? Elephant rides, crocodile shows, monkeys on a coconut plantation, water slides, a visit to the Magic Garden and a ride on mountain trails in a jeep. An all-day safari additionally includes visits to the temple complex Wat Phra Yai, from which it is excellent to watch the sunset. See detailed description and prices here:

6.2. Fishing

If you like fishing, then you can go to sea with a special excursion. The price includes a transfer, everything for fishing, as well as lunch on board a fishing vessel.

6.3. Dolphin Travel

Another excursion that you can go with the whole family is a boat trip in search of dolphins. In addition to watching dolphins (although this is lucky), the tour includes visits to mangroves, a mystical cave, as well as the island of Tan.

6.4. Island tour

Many travel agencies offer sightseeing tours of Samui. Basically, all of them include visits to all the most interesting sights. In 1 day you can see all the very best on the island.

You can go on such an excursion:

And if you are with a family or company, then one of these:

7. What else to do

7.1. Go to the evening market

We were at the evening market in Lamai (), and in the fishing village (Fisherman's Village). You can buy all kinds of cool souvenirs at the market, but the main thing is to have a delicious dinner!

Once a week (Fisherman - on Friday, Lamai - on Sunday) walking street turns into a night fair of the most diverse snacks. What is there just - from a soup of 7 types of mushrooms or a barbecue made from crocodile to ordinary rolls or sweet waffles. Everything is prepared immediately with you - the freshest and most delicious.

7.2. Ride elephants

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Thailand. You can ride an elephant in Safari Park, having arrived here on your own or as part of an excursion:

Pleasure is not cheap, prices are from 500 baht in 15 minutes.

7.3. Go to one of the night pubs / clubs

Nightclubs on Koh Samui are just the sea! Just sit on the bike and drive to tourist places. Most of the clubs are located in the Chaweng and Lamai areas, so if you want to live in a party place and visit such places more often, it is best to immediately find a place somewhere nearby, in the center of the island's party life.

 Reggae Bar on Koh Samui

7.4. Explore the nearest islands

Samui is a large island, but if you still want to visit somewhere else, try out other beaches or snorkel, then it's better to go to the nearest islands. The easiest way to go on a trip to Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan. The trip will cost from $ 76 per person.

7.5. Spend a day at the yoga center

You can sign up for a yoga lesson, but it’s more interesting to spend the whole day in a yoga center and combine yoga classes, relaxing massage, relaxation in the pool and spa treatments. The price also includes three meals a day. View details here:

What other interesting places on Samui do you know? Share classified information in the comments! Also write about your impressions of the island - what did you like and what didn’t, where else would you like to go?

By the way, if you are only going to Samui, but have not yet chosen a hotel, I advise you to look at search engine website hotellook of 5)

Samui definitely won’t be bored: let there be not so many entertainments here as, for example, in, but the island cannot be called uninteresting. There are plenty of leisure options. The main thing is to find a place and occupation to your liking.

All entertainments from this article are marked on this map:

Night markets are widespread in Thailand, and in particular on Samui. This is a spontaneous bazaar where you can eat and buy a wide variety of products. The main assortment is clothing, shoes, bags, souvenirs, sushi, fruits, barbecue, seafood, beer, cocktails and street fast food.

Often there you can meet artists: musicians, singers, circus performers. Opening hours of the markets: from 17:00 to 23:00. Location:

 • Tuesday - Nathon;
 • Thursday - Maenam;
 • Friday - Bophut;
 • Saturday - Nathon, Bang Kao;
 • Sunday - .

Romagna Magic Alambic

Romovarnya is located in the south of the island, near Bang Kao Beach. The company has been operating since 2003, and during its existence managed to gain the trust of customers and popularity among tourists.

At the romovarna there is a cafe where you can taste the rum that is produced here, as well as order other drinks and food

The drink here is made exclusively from natural ingredients, making rum great. Everyone is gladly acquainted with the technological process, but the subtleties of the recipe are not disclosed to anyone.

Menu in the cafe:

In Magic Alambic you can buy classic rum and rum with aromatic additives (pineapple, coconut, lime, orange).

Tasting of rum "Magic Alambic": it is brought with syrup in a separate glass, which must be added to taste

Tasting of products is carried out throughout the year, and excursions to production lead only at the peak of the season - from December to May.

Boput fishing village

A small village located near Bop Hoot Beach. This is a traditional island settlement where fishermen once lived. It is interesting that the most ancient buildings on the whole of Koh Samui have been preserved here. A small pier was erected on the seashore, boats were moored and fishing nets hung.

The area of the fishing village of Bo Phut: along the entire beach street - a huge number of fish restaurants

Bo Phut beach itself

This is an incredibly interesting and authentic place, where many souvenir shops, restaurants and small hotels are open. On Friday, the village turns into a market where you can buy everything from souvenirs to ivory decorations. This is "little Bangkok", where every traveler should visit.

Sheep Farm Samui

“Sheep farm and salad bar” must be visited by tourists with children. This is a very cute, funny place where lambs and rabbits live.

Here you can buy grass or milk in a bottle with a pacifier for a small fee and feed the animals:

Especially at the Sheep Farm, we liked the little rabbits, which you can also feed and play with. We coincidentally turned out to be Vanino toy rabbits, which we introduced to the real ones:

One to one

In addition to animal pens, there are two original playgrounds (one of them indoor), a mill and a cafe, the main part of the menu of which consists of dishes from herbs, vegetables and fruits that are grown right on the farm. The territory of the object is very well-groomed and stylized in accordance with the general theme.

Due to the fact that it is very sunny here, it is better to come here in the afternoon. The attraction works from 10:00 to 18:00, but if there are few visitors, the farm closes much earlier.

Samui sheep farm prices:

The attraction opened relatively recently - in 2009. The pagoda is located on a hilltop, it is clearly visible from Lake Chaweng.

A wide staircase leads to the shrine, on the terraces of which are set benches for relaxation and colorful statues.

The first level of Khao Hua Jok is occupied by a prayer hall, the second is an observation deck 90 m high. For the convenience of tourists, there is a pavilion with drinks, a platform with benches, tables and a toilet.

From the vantage point, travelers will be able to observe the incredible landscape: it offers a circular panorama of Samui and a view of the local airport.

View from the top of the pagoda: the sea and Samui Airport

The plane is preparing to take off

The best time to visit Khao Hua Jook Pagoda is at sunset:

Buddha Footprint Temple

The footprint of the Buddha is a kind of religious shrine that is often found in Asian countries. On Samui there is also such a temple with a footprint of a deity (the track, of course, is not real).

For the population of the island this is a special, revered place, but for the mass tourist it is not at all remarkable. An inconspicuous, dilapidated temple stands on a hill, to the top of which a trail is laid. Visitors are extremely rare here, often a curious traveler is the only guest.

Forested Pointer to the Temple

A tablet with instructions on how to behave in a temple with a footprint of Buddha - lying on the ground

The attraction is unlikely to cause delight: apart from the footprint, there is nothing perfect here, and the place is not very beautiful. It is worth a glimpse for a greater immersion in the culture and traditions of the state.

At the entrance to the temple - a statue of a seated monk, from surprise we were afraid of him

Aquarium & tiger zoo

The first part of the attraction is a small aquarium. It occupies a spacious corridor with illuminated aquariums mounted on both sides. Sharks, sea urchins, crabs, stingrays, moray eels and many other inhabitants of the deep sea live here. The most interesting thing is that some fish and reptiles can be fed.

The second part is the tiger zoo. His pets are rare Bengal tigers, smoky leopards and some other wild cats. The menagerie is also inhabited by monkeys, otters, birds, sea lions. The latter participate in a colorful show that takes place every day. The most memorable part of the performance is a tiger jump trick through a ring of fire.

Entrance fee - 750 baht.

Crocodile Farm (Samui Crocodile Farm)

The farm is spread over an area of 8,000 square meters. m. On its territory there are enclosures with different species of crocodiles - cayman, Siamese, sea, as well as terrariums with snakes. Almost all the inhabitants of the zoo can be fed.

The most interesting thing here is the show, the participants of which are the menagerie residents. Fearless trainers will demonstrate some spectacular tricks and will allow you to touch the awesome reptiles.

The performance takes place every hour from 12:00 to 17:00, in turn with snakes and crocodiles. Its duration is about half an hour.

Paradise park

A wonderful farm park is located in the Taling Ngam area, on top of Khao Pom Mountain. This is an amazingly beautiful place where tropical trees, flowers and shrubs grow. Birds are bred here - pigeons, peacocks, parrots, as well as some other animals, which are mostly freely walking around the territory.

During a walk along the winding alleys of the park, visitors will also enjoy incredible panoramas of the coast. Another highlight of the attraction is the chic infinity pool, creating the illusion of swimming right at the edge of the cliff. Around the reservoir, a relaxation area with sun loungers is landscaped.

Waterpark "Coco Splash"

This water attraction center is focused primarily on children. Most of the slides are low and not steep; however, extreme lovers will definitely like the three slopes. It is unusual that all slides in this water park are made of concrete:

On the territory there are two swimming pools, a jacuzzi, a trampoline, gazebos, a pond where you can ride a boat, a game town, a platform for cycling. For relaxation after an active holiday, an area with sun loungers and soft puffs is suitable.

The water park is beautifully decorated: at every step - spreading palm trees, fountains, geysers. All necessary amenities - a shower, changing rooms, a left-luggage office, are also available here.

The cost of entry to the water park "Coco Splash":

 • Adults - 990 THB
 • Children (height not higher than 130 cm) - 690 baht
 • Children (less than 90 cm tall) - free

Water Park "Pink Elephant"

The new, modern water park "Pink Elephant" is perfect for families. It offers guests - more than a dozen different slides. For lovers of extreme sports - slopes 9, 12 m high, 90, 110 m long and a giant funnel, for kids - spacious play areas on land and in water, for those who want to relax - a jacuzzi, "Lazy river" and a wave pool .

The complex is surrounded by dense tropical greenery, in the shade of which sun loungers are installed. Several bars, a restaurant, a shop are open here, as well as all the necessary infrastructure facilities.

Ticket price:

 • Adults - 399 THB
 • Children (height not higher than 130 cm) - 349 baht
 • Children (below 90 cm) - free

"High Park Samui" (Slide and Fly)

“High Park” can be safely called one of the most extreme attractions on the island. It is located in the area. The complex has two of the highest slides in Asia: their height reaches 31 meters and a length of 15 meters. The first will send tourists flying up, and the second forward.

In addition to ski jumps, you can soak in the pools, play billiards, and also visit an incendiary foam party in the local cafe-bar. Another feature of this place is a gorgeous panoramic view of Samui, which opens from almost anywhere in it.

Should I go to Koh Samui? Of course, of course, of course, the first flight! Ask why there are so many emotions in response to such a simple question? Because I just returned a month ago from this wonderful island and still still can not calm down from the emotions and impressions that captured me.

This vacation left only positive emotions, a lot of positive and a great desire to return to Koh Samui again.

Judge for yourself: magnificent nature; pristine beaches that clean every morning; gentle warm sea without a single wrinkle of waves; very smiling and friendly Thais. On the island, without exaggeration, very, very tasty food. Compared to Phuket, European food is much better here. If you ask for not spicy, then the dish is brought not spicy by European standards, and not by the standards of the Thais themselves (as was with us in Phuket).

Traveling around the island is a pleasure. All roads are either asphalt or concrete with very good quality of the canvas. On the island you can rent a car or motobike and travel peacefully from one end to the other, completely independent of the vagaries of tour operators. We rented a motobike and with pleasure traveled around all corners of the island, and the road in the center of the island is also excellent, so it is quite possible to overcome it even on a bike. The island itself is not big, and if you plan a trip to any attraction in the morning, then you can safely and leisurely ride back and forth, while still have time ... read more

The enchanting and vibrant island of Koh Samui

Samui in February is quite hot and with high humidity. This was the first impression of arriving at a place vaunted by all our friends and acquaintances. The country of smiles really smiled at us hot and humid. But even this first impression did not overshadow the beauty of the island. As soon as we arrived at the resort, it became clear that we would live in paradise. The ennobled territory exuded a honey-tart aroma, a variety of colored butterflies, blue pool water, and peacocks strolling through the mass of outlandish plantings. Avanta conquered us, we did not regret that we chose this apart-hotel. Then of course we realized that it was not very convenient to get to the sea and took off the motobike, the problem was solved, but the neighborhood with peacocks brought us “joy” all the holidays, who don’t know how they sing, they don’t understand, but who knows, they will sympathize.

The beaches on Samui are very different, which is why the reviews of tourists vary so much. If you take Chaweng, Lamai and Maenam, these are the places where most of our citizens talk about dirty and very crowded beaches, but such a place will appeal to party-goers. There are many restaurants and bars. In our experience, scouts share really chic beaches on the island, I’ll warn you that it’s not easy to find some of them, but it’s worth trying, these are beaches: Ban Tai - lots of palm trees, fine nice and clean sand, suitable for children, smooth sunset and clear crystal water , Lipanoy - good sand, an abundance of varied seashells, good for sunbathing, but for bathing small, not ... read full

Food and Products

An average of 500 baht a day was spent on food - about 1,000 rubles. With this money, we could safely eat in large shopping centers such as BigSi on the 4th floor in a food court, in small eateries, which are very numerous on the island. Sometimes they bought ready-made food at 7/11 or FamilyMart. They themselves did not cook. They didn’t go to expensive restaurants either. For example, a large portion of Tom Yam, or chicken noodles costs 40-50-60 baht (80-120 rubles). Beer on average about 90-120 rubles. They bought fruits at the markets, but they are more expensive than we even went out with - bananas from 70 baht (140 rubles), pineapple 80 baht (160 rubles).

Souvenirs and other goods

The child was bought clothes, T-shirts, blouses, glasses, towels, slippers, and so on trifles. Prices are about the same as in Russia. The total cost of shopping is not more than 15,000 rubles for 2 months.

The cost of services and entertainment

We took a moped for 2 months, the price is 4000 baht (8000 rubles a month).

Total money spent on vacation

Breakfast seemed a bit overpriced to me (which later turned out to be), so I went to neighboring cafes.

Maenam Beach is a very long beach located in the north of the island. Nice sand, good deep sea, almost no waves. A gentle entry into the sea. Along the beach is a palm grove where you can hide from the sun. The beach, in my opinion, is suitable for people who prefer a relaxing holiday or for families with children. There are few cafes and bars, generally the beach is not crowded. In the evening, only a few bars work and on the beach you will hardly find anyone.

Next to Maenam Beach is Bo Phut Beach and is radically different from its neighbor: in the evenings it is fun and crowded. Loved the promenade. It seemed to me that the place was more suited to youth recreation.

Lamai Beach is not a crowded beach (at least in March it was like that). Hotel beaches are equipped with everything necessary, no showers were noticed in the rest of the territory, toilets are only for cafe visitors. Loungers can be taken there, but not too many and not enough for everyone (100 baht). If there is no umbrella, you have to roast in the sun, as there is no natural shadow (or almost no) on the beach. The beach is quite long. I was in its southern part: a deep sea with large boulders that you can suddenly stumble upon while swimming. It was storming for several days, I realized that in March it was not uncommon.

Where can I eat?

Loved it at Mae Nam (Maenam Beach): excellent cuisine at the level of a good expensive restaurant despite the fact that the prices are average. I note that they are not lower in comparison with other places, but in most cases the kitchen lost in comparison with Mae Nam. In addition, the institution has a high quality service. Excellent serving.

About the quality of food and service

Good food (with rare exceptions). The service is different, sometimes it took a long time to wait.

How much does it cost to eat? About food prices.

Breakfast within 150 baht (not far from the hotel) - mostly coffee and something to it. Dinner cost me about 150-200 baht: as a rule, it was limited to one or two dishes, depending on the size of the servings, since the portions are often large, and I am basically restrained in food. It could be: pizza (180-280 baht), seafood salad (80-130 baht), vegetable salad (70-90 baht), chicken salad (100-130 baht), freshly squeezed juice (60-80 baht), soup (60-80 baht). Fast food was also present: burgers (130-150 baht), a sandwich with tuna or chicken (100-130 baht). As for dinner, it turned out differently depending on the place and mood.

Mae Nam: rice with shrimp and vegetables - 120 baht, fresh - 60 baht, tom yam - 150 baht, seafood salad - 139 baht, burrito - 195 baht, baked rice in pineapple - 160 baht, coconut shake - 80 baht.
