The diesel was canceled ... How long? Who knows…

"... until further notice!" - sounded in the radio announcement that we heard on the morning of March 2, 2016 at the Donetsk-2 station (Pokrovsky market).

For us, this broadcast was like a bolt from the blue, because we carefully planned a business trip for several months. And no wonder: the concept of "travel expenses" in the present budget of the university in the Donetsk People’s Republic does not actually exist.

Want to go on a business trip ?! Science?! .. Yes, no problem! Any whim FOR YOUR account ...

We heard about these words when we tried to arrange travel expenses officially ... We, however, issued documents ... but not expenses, but simply certificates. The concept of “payment” is not our case, although we live as if in a “people's” republic ...

Well, okay. Politics - politics, and scientific work at the department should continue. Otherwise, the price is worthless to us. And we decided to go at our own expense. By itself, according to the most "budget" option. And here…

"Dear passengers! The train "Yasinovataya - Uspenka" was canceled until further notice ... "

So ... suddenly and without warning. 30 minutes before departure ...

And on the platform are a couple of dozens of potential passengers. Are they standing ?! But where are they? And ... here their last bag-and-check feed flickered among the trees. Catch up!

Hello, we see that you are in a hurry somewhere. And what, is there a chance for a quick get to Uspenka?

Oh sure. Do you need to go there? To the mail?

No, we are in Rostov, to the conference ...

So hold on to us. We are to Ilovaisk, and you will transfer there.

... so ... the recipe!

If you arrived at the Donetsk-2 station, and instead of the train to Uspenka you got a shish without oil ... don’t despair!

Urgently rush to the nearest minibus flight, which will take you to the central bus station in Makeevka. In our case, it was route No. 121 (how we got to it is a separate, funniest story).

  1. For 15 rubles on route No. 121 we get to the central bus station Makeevka.

  2. Exactly at 08:00 the bus "Makeevka - Amvrosievka" leaves from there via st. Ilovaisk. Travel to Ilovaysk costs 36 rubles.

  3. In Ilovaysk you need to get out at the railway station. At about 9:30, the Ilovaysk-Uspenka diesel engine starts from there. The ticket price is either 16, or 18 rubles (I don’t remember).

  4. And we are coming to the Assumption!

  5. Here we have two options. One is proven. At 13:05, an electric train departs from there to Rostov-on-Don. The fare is 210 rubles. An electric train arrives in Rostov at 16:24 (a little later, our local friends in RND suggested that a bus should go from Uspenka to Rostov. And, supposedly, it is even cheaper than an electric train. We don’t know ... we have not checked it yet).

It does not matter. Most importantly, we drove from Donetsk (DPR) to Rostov (RF) at the lowest price:

15 + 36 + 18 + 210 \u003d 279 rubles.

And if our train had not been canceled ... we would have saved a few more coins.

Now about passing the border. Customs officers and border guards from the DNI are extremely loyal to you: they go to the station in front of Uspenka and quickly check your documents. A dog with the police ... I mean, a border guard dog quickly walks around the car and almost does not pay attention to your sandwiches laid out on the table ... on the benches of the car.

But with the Russian border control is a little more complicated. As soon as the train arrives at the station, customs officers and border guards come in from two sides - the first and last cars. The remaining doors are closed. All passengers are first checked by border guards (passports), and then by selective control at the exit of the car and mandatory control through an x-ray frame near the train (like at the airport, you put your bag on a conveyor belt, and you go through the metal detector arch).

There’s a little trick here: if you VERYin a hurry, then you need to sit not in the central carriage, but on the bench nearest to the exit doors of the first (or last) carriage. Then you will be checked and released faster.

But if you didn’t come to Ouspenka in order to drop by the post office and immediately go back on the return flight ... take your time. Sit quietly in the central carriage, poison the jokes. All the same, the train to Rostov will not leave without you!

Something like this ... The rest of the details, if interested, are in the comments on this text.

Oh yes! Another funny nuance. The toilet in Uspenka is free, as in Ilovaysk ... but you can only get there if you have a passport! :) After all, he is on the platform BEFORE the border! :) And right next to the border post on the platform you will be greeted ... yes! that same notorious "drill" with a broad, kind and smiling face. He will ask your documents, politely smile at you ... and let him pass into the desired distance :)
Bon Voyage! :)

UPD .:  As it turned out, direct diesel train canceled "due to lack of diesel fuel". Hope temporarily.

True, the press service of the DPR Ministry of Transport for some reason announced this only after two (!) Weeks ... Well, better late, of course, than not at all ... But I would like to be announced on time.

But suburban trains from Yasinovataya to Ilovaysk run quite normally. Moreover, they go, starting at 4:30 in the morning. And there you can transfer to the Assumption:

"Transfer to Ilovaysk station from the local train number 6145 Yasinovataya-Ilovaysk (8: 15-9: 23) to the local train number 6931 Ilovaysk-Uspenskaya (9: 32-11: 30)."
So, now there is no need to go further Makeevka! It’s just to get in early in the morning to Makeevka Railway Station and there, IMMEDIATELY take a train (for example, No. 6145) continue to calmly go to the Uspenka

There, all passengers can transfer to the Uspenskaya-Rostov electric train (the schedule of these trains is the same) and get to Rostov via Taganrog.

The locomotive’s cabin is somewhat reminiscent of an airplane. A lot of electronics that were successfully“ circled ”by the crew of the Ilovaisky depot. Rails stretching to the horizon are clearly visible from the high window, and along the paths are poles with scraps of wire. Actually, this is why a diesel train was launched to the border, "Ruslan Melnikov writes. It consists of only three cars designed for 273 seats.
