The black pyramid. Among the Great Pyramids of Giza was a unique fourth (5 photos)

The system of lifts and ski slopes, as well as the entire infrastructure at the Gorki Gorod resort, was built for the 2014 Winter Olympics. After the Winter Olympics, the resort has not ceased to be popular, having transformed into an all-season. All objects of the Gorki Gorod resort are located on four levels: “Lower City” at an altitude of 540 meters above sea level, “Upper City” at an altitude of 960 meters, at an altitude of 1,500 meters and 2,200 meters - viewing platforms, ski slopes, eco-routes and restaurants .

Of the 13 cable car lifts in summer, nine are on excursion hours if you plan a day trip to Gorki Gorod, it is best to arrive early in the morning to catch more attractions at the resort.

Gorki Gorod Resort is located in the village of Esto-Sadok in the Mzymta River Valley, which is 40 kilometers from Sochi International Airport. You can get to the resort by bus, taxi or the "Lastochka" train. It is worth noting that car sharing is very popular in Sochi.

The main attraction of the resort in the summer season, of course, is the cable car. The cost of a walking ticket for the Gorki Gorod cableway in the summer of 2019:

  • one ascent / descent from 540 meters to 960 meters (“Upper Town”)
    • adult - 300 rubles,
    • children - 200 rubles;
  • one ascent / descent from 540 meters to 2200 meters ("Panorama")
    • adult - 1400 rubles,
    • children - 850 rubles.

The excursion lift on the Gorki Gorod cableway to the Black Pyramid peak passes with transfers at the stations. To get to the goal, you need to make several transfers between the cableways of the gondola and chair type: K1 - K2 - K3 - K4 - K5. So, go! Into the mountains!

Important! If you decide to visit the resorts of Krasnaya Polyana, then be sure to bring warm clothes with you, because in the mountains the air temperature is lower than on the Black Sea coast. The temperature in the alpine zone, at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level, does not rise above 15 ° C in summer.

Observation deck at an altitude of 960 meters - “Upper Town”

The first lift K1 lifts from the "Lower City" from a height of 540 meters to 960 meters above sea level in the "Upper City". Gondola-type cableway cabins, some with special mounts for mountain bikes. This is because the Gorki Bike Park station is located at the Upper Town station with routes of varying difficulty for the downhill - downhill mountain biking. Also, from the station “Upper Town” you can get by cable car to the eco-route “Polikarya Falls” if you purchased a walking ticket for all lifts.

At the station “Upper Town” there is a large observation deck, many restaurants and cafes. There is a zone of a forest mountain zone, so you should linger and take a little walk around the station to enjoy the views and clean air.

Important! If you are a guest of one of the hotels in the Upper City, the climb to K1 will be free for you.

Observation deck at an altitude of 1460 meters

The second K2 lift is part of the main excursion route on the way to the top of the Aibga ridge. Already from the cabins of this lift a view of the Pseashkho massif, which is located opposite the Aibga ridge, opens, and together they form the gorge of the Mzymta River. You can see the snowy peak in the center - Sakharny peak 3189 meters high, the peak to the left of the peak - Pseashkho Yuzhny 3251 meters high, and to the right of Sakharny peak - Kozhevnikov peak 3070 meters. And in front of these peaks is the Bzerpinsk cornice, on which the popular tourist hiking trail runs in the summer season.

The station is located at an altitude of 1460 meters above sea level. In just a few minutes, from the zone of the forest mountain belt you find yourself in the subalpine zone. The landscape and the ambient temperature are changing. It is cooler here than at the stations “Lower City” and “Upper City”. In summer, the temperature in the subalpine zone does not rise above +24 ° C. Not far from the station there is a rope park and an ecological route called “Relic Forest”. A visit to the rope park is paid, and admission to the relict eco-route is free. If you have time, then you should definitely take a walk along the eco-route trail among the magnificent firs.

Observation deck at an altitude of 2200 meters - Black Pyramid peak

The third lift K3 lifts to a height of 2200 meters above sea level in the zone of alpine meadows. Here, on the top of the Aibga ridge, the most colorful ecological route was laid out under the name “Alpine Meadows”. The length of the route is 3 kilometers with a vertical drop of up to 150 meters, so it will take a lot of time to go through it. As a reward for decisiveness, tourists will enjoy stunning viewpoints on the eco-route through the mountain range.

But at the upper station, not only the Alpine Meadows eco-route is interesting. On the chairlift K4 and K5 you can make a dizzying descent into the neighboring mountain circus, and no less exciting climb to the foot of the Black Pyramid. A real attraction 150 meters high awaits tourists on the K4 cable car. After a short gentle ride, the K4 lift chairs rush almost vertically downwards, exciting emotions are provided to everyone, especially those who are sensitive to height. Before moving onto the last cable car, you can take a walk to Bear Falls or the Rhododendron Valley.

The last climb on the K5 cable car leads to the foot of the Black Pyramid - the highest peak of the Gorki Gorod resort. The peak height is 2375 meters above sea level. An excursion climbing route has been laid to the top of the Black Pyramid, which can be covered with insurance under the supervision of an instructor.

Amazing views of yet another mountain circus open from the upper station of the K5 lift. And from here you can see the Mountain Olympic Village on the Rosa Plateau, built at an altitude of 1170 meters above sea level in the resort of Rosa Khutor.

An excursion climb on the Gorki Gorod cable car and a walk along some of the resort's eco-routes can take a whole day. It will be quite difficult to manage to visit all the natural attractions of the resort in one visit. But this is a good reason to return to the resort again.

The black pyramid attracted me for a long time, but in the summer I never reached it. And then when heavy snowfall began, I looked at her from the office window and my bulb above my head turned on. Why not?! Snow-capped peak of one of the most beautiful Peaks of Aibgi Mountain! Great! It remains to find a company. And the company itself found me - a fellow for LDPE Electronic dolphin  he himself asked if I had any plans for Saturday. Well, everyone decided, let's go!

In the morning of November 14, met at the station. Esto-zadok and moved to the elevator of the Mountain Carousel. The cable car only started working after routine maintenance, therefore we were the first to climb into it at 09:00 a.m. 1460 to mark The 2200 lift did not even have time to turn on, but literally after 3-4 minutes it still worked. So, we are on the mark. 2200, here the first surprise awaited us - a helicopter throws cargo onto the mountain! He made a big impression on me, I haven’t seen a helicopter so close yet, and the wind, together with a fresh snowball in my face, is very refreshing before climbing! :)

Having looked at the views from the “viewing 2200”, we realized that the circus-2 cableways do not work and therefore carefully moved on foot while the rescuers skied past us on the fresh “velveteen” ... oh ... this feeling when you yourself want to ride, and in front of your nose they do it, like a child took a candy and ate ... ahem ... but something I deviated from the topic.

Beefed up from the mountain climatic uniqueness of Circus-2 and moved higher to the cable car to the elevation. 2300, with which actually begins the ascent to the Black Pyramid. There was a lot of snow, the rise was not the easiest, in places it fell almost to the waist. It’s good in places where the rope is very difficult to stretch, which you can grab and climb with it is much easier.

  Well, here is the last effort and we are on top! Indescribable sensations, so I will only post part of the pictures and you will understand everything!

At the top, they decided not to linger much, the sun went down below the mountains, although we reached very quickly and it was only about half the first day. Going down to otm. 2300, drank tea from a thermos and walked back to otm. 2200. At 15:00 we were already at the lower level of the Mountain Carousel.

Gorgeous walk turned out, the first inherited in the fresh snow on top and got a lot of impressions!
  Thanks to the wife of Electronic Dolphin for company and moral support during our small but insanely interesting trip!

P.S. A huge request if you are not confident in your abilities not to repeat !!! In such deep snow, not everyone can climb this peak. Realistically assess the situation, mountains are not a toy!

- Dashur -

The Black Pyramid of Amenemhat III in Dashur is located at a distance of 1.3 km east of the Broken Pyramid (as well as the White Pyramid of Amenemhat II at a distance of 1.3 km from the Red Pyramid).

For the first time, the Black Pyramid was visited by John Perring and Karl Lepsius. This happened in the middle of the 19th century. A more thorough study of the Pyramid in 1894-1895. conducted by French archaeologists Jacques de Morgan and George Legrain.

Pyramid height - 75 m;
   Facet slope 57 °;
   The length of the side of the base is 105m.

The pyramid of Amenemkhet III has a very complex internal architecture, unusual for the builders of the XII Dynasty. Inside the Pyramid are two entrances. The first is in the southeast corner of the eastern side of the Pyramid. It leads to the Descending Corridor, equipped with a staircase. The corridor leads into a maze with many passages and chambers located at different levels on the eastern side of the Pyramid. The burial chamber with a gable roof vault is oriented from east to west and, like most of the underground chambers of the Pyramid, is made of blocks of white limestone.

The second entrance to the Pyramid is opposite the First, on the western side of the Pyramid, from the southwest corner and leads to the two Tsaritsa Burial Chambers. It is believed that the first funeral chamber belongs to Queen Aat, the name of the owner of the second funeral chamber is unknown.

A series of complex transitions connects the Western rooms of the Pyramid with the Eastern rooms.

The pyramid is surrounded by double walls made of unburnt kripich around its entire perimeter.

It is believed that Amenemhat III built and then abandoned the Pyramid in Dashur in the 15th year of his reign, having begun the construction of a new Pyramid in Hawara. Perhaps the reason was the unstable geological zone chosen for the construction of a megalithic structure near the Nile Valley. The pyramid was built at an altitude of only 10 meters above sea level. The fragile material of the main walls allowed groundwater to seep into the main stratum of the Pyramid masonry, thereby making it heavier. This led to a gradual subsidence of the main masonry mass, which provoked the formation of cracks in the bearing walls of the underground premises.

Currently, both entrances to the Pyramid of Amenemhet III are completely bombarded.

In 1900, during an inspection of the environs of the Pyramid of Amenemhat III by the Organization of Egyptian Antiquities, on the eastern side of the structure was found the perfectly preserved basalt Pyramidion, decorated with inscriptions and images. It’s hard to say whether he ever sparkled in the rays of the bright sun of Dashur at an altitude of 75 meters from the surface of the plateau ... Time took away the original appearance of the Pyramid. Now this artifact is located in the central hall of the Cairo Museum, striking visitors with the high accuracy of its geometric parameters, along with the impeccable technique of applying inscriptions and drawings to the basalt surface mirror-polished by ancient masters.

No wonder the great pyramids are considered a wonder of the world. The whole world admires their millennia-old history and incredible architectural perfection, as well as the amazing secrets that hide these ancient monuments. The three main pyramids in Giza are called great. The tombs of the pharaohs of Cheops, Mikerin and Chefren have a strict geometric shape, and their faces are oriented exactly to the cardinal points (esoreiter.ru).

Nevertheless, there is evidence that the Great Pyramids actually were at least one more. A prominent Danish explorer and naval captain Frederick Norden claims in his writings that he saw the fourth of them with his own eyes. In the years 1737-1738, he, at the request of the King of Denmark Christian Six, went to Sudan through all of Egypt. During this journey, the captain made many notes and sketches regarding the monuments of ancient Egyptian architecture. All this information was carefully collected after his death and posthumously published in the form of the book "Journey to Egypt and Nubia."

Mystical Black Pyramid

According to Norden, the fourth Great Pyramid was made of black stone, which has the same high strength as granite. Frederic wrote that the main pyramids are located in the southeast and east of Giza, and there are exactly four of them. Nearby there are small-sized pyramids, which mean nothing in comparison with the Great. The black pyramid, according to Norden, had a height of more than one and a half meters. There were no tombs and temples inside it, however this monument was important for its other peculiarity.

At the very top of the fourth pyramid was a colossal cube-shaped stone, which, perhaps, once served as a pedestal. However, the Dane was not sure of this and quite admitted that this stone could be a self-sufficient statue. The pyramid itself was made of a kind of black granite, but a stone of a lighter, yellowish shade acted as a building material for its top, supporting the mysterious cube. The Black Great Pyramid was located west of the other three and formed a straight line with them.

It is noteworthy that many other researchers talked about the Great Pyramid in black. Egyptologists and representatives of official science refuse to acknowledge this and completely deny the existence of such a monument. The world community easily believes these words, since the fourth pyramid is really nowhere to be found. There are also no debris that must have remained of her. However, if Frederick Norden, who was never convicted of lies and even more so in hoaxes, is not deceived and the black pyramid really existed, then where could it disappear - is that the question? ..
