The largest water park in Ukraine was opened on December 21, 2012 in the city of Donetsk. Its construction began in 2009 in Shcherbakova park and today this construction pleases citizens and visitors alike.
The Aquasfera, which is what the largest Ukrainian water park is now called, was opened in a festive atmosphere. Investors were invited to the opening ceremony, the main one being Oleg Mkrtchan, general director of one of the largest transnational metallurgical companies of the Industrial Union of Donbass, as well as Alexander Lukyanchenko, mayor of Donetsk.
After the red ribbon was cut and solemn speeches were made (by the way, the famous Russian TV presenter Yury Nikolaev led the opening ceremony), the director of the Donetsk water park, accompanied by the director of the AquaDonInvest company, which was directly involved in the construction of the complex, Olga Dorofeeva conducted a tour for VIP guests.

Two attractions are especially worth mentioning for entertainment: “Tripple Charger Tube”, where three slides are tied into one, as well as “Aqualoop” or “dead loop”, which in Ukraine is still presented in a single copy.
The main advantage of the water park "Aquasfera" is a transparent dome, which has no analogues in any of the CIS countries. The diameter of the dome is eighty-five meters at twenty-five meter height.

The opening ceremony was conducted by the famous Russian TV presenter Yuri Nikolaev. Also, the mayor of Donetsk Alexander Alekseevich Lukyanchenko delivered a congratulation speech. In his speech, the mayor emphasized that all the wishes of the city council were taken into account, and no money was allocated from the city budget for construction. The VIP guests, who were fenced off by journalists and ordinary security guards and a red ribbon, showed a small video on the screen showing the construction progress of the building. After that, a group of chosen ones went on a sightseeing tour, to which representatives of the administration did not allow most of the journalists who came to cover the event.
At this time, the guests were invited to see the synchronized swimming number and watch the first lucky ones who demonstrated the possibilities of slides and attractions.
After the buffet, the remaining journalists could ask their questions to the director of the water park and the mayor.
