Bali or Samui what to choose. Prices of flights Samui - Denpasar Bali for months

I am a fan of holidays in Thailand, and in particular on Samui. Bali is also not indifferent and has been there more than once. A couple of times during the holidays it turned out to warm the bones, first on one island, and then on another. I share my travel experience on this route.

From Samui to Bali by plane

Unfortunately, direct planes do not fly on this route. You can get with a change. It can be made, for example, in Singapore. The journey takes a little over eight hours.

Both flights are operated by Singapore Airlines. You can also fly from Koh Samui to Bali through Kuala Lumpur (this is the capital of Malaysia). Spend more than seventeen hours all the way.

conclusions

Ferries between the two islands do not run. I personally suffer from seasickness and if they cruised between Samui and Bali, they would hardly have decided to make such a trip. It is a pity that there are no direct flights between the islands, but maybe something will change in the future.

A ticket for the Samui-Bangkok bus for me we bought in advance at the bus station in Nathon. When buying, we wondered why the price is 1066 baht, while we arrived in Samui for 700 with a penny on a VIP bus, and then we were shown a scheme of the cabin and offered to choose a place. At first glance it seemed to me that this was a diagram of a minibus, not a large bus, there were so few places! Only 8 rows and 3 places in each (2 + 1). I chose a place for my favorite number 5. Apparently, we arrived in Koh Samui with a VIP bus from another company.

The bus itself is simply gorgeous. The chairs are very comfortable and very wide. The distances between the rows are huge, when the person sitting in front leans back, you hardly notice it. And there were not many people at all, about 7 people left Samui, then someone else sat down, but in the end no more than half of the bus was occupied. While the first and second grade were packed to capacity. By the way, they started at the same time and rode all the time with us. In the VIP-bus, there were no foreigners except me at all, only Thais, but the “conductor” duplicated all the ads in English for me personally.

I was riding the morning bus, at 7:30 he leaves the bus station. Of course, I did not have time to have breakfast, I thought we would be fed normally on the way. For breakfast, they gave two cookies (one of which was so-so) and half a glass of coffee. And around 11 we were dropped off and told to go eat. There is a Thai buffet: rice and plates with additives to it on a rotating stand. I even found a non-spicy dish there and I ate almost all of it without sharing with the Thais, especially since they were not interested in them. Well, after that we were not fed. For a night bus - this is normal, but for a day bus it’s not enough.

We were told that it goes 12 hours, but it turned out 13. The bus was late for an hour. It’s good that I still didn’t decide to go by day bus at 15 with something, otherwise I would not only overpay for a taxi, but I could be late for the plane, which left at 6 in the morning. By the way, about a taxi, as soon as I got off the bus some Thai started to wave my hands, smile and call to me. He consulted with his girlfriend for a long time and issued a price of 700 baht! Yeah, now! Then the second jumped - 400 baht. It’s good that at that moment I saw a stop where Taxi drivers are standing, otherwise these prices scared me :) According to the counter, from the South Bus Station to Don Muang Airport - 240 baht.

Muang House Airport is a separate song. There is no Internet there! The seats are absolutely uncomfortable, the backs are incredibly short, they reach only the middle of the back, which means you cannot sleep while sitting, and you cannot sleep while lying down, because the seats are concave and when you lie across, they terribly dig into the body. But there is no Internet, so I had to sleep, and in fact my eyes were sticking together. I even wanted to sleep like Thais on the floor, but unfortunately I am not so prudent, and I did not have a sleeping bag or any similarity. I had to sleep for a long time, 6 hours. On such a "bed" it is just unbelievably long. If you have the opportunity not to spend the night in Don Muang, you need to use it.

The flight to Bali was excellent. I met the dawn already in the sky. It was incredibly beautiful. I slept almost the entire flight, woke up just before landing, because you can’t miss the landing. When landing, I saw familiar places, so interesting. Batur Volcano, the new road along which we rode in the early days of the opening, the airport and the place where we looked at the planes. The flock was clear, so the whole island was visible.

At the airport I was met by a personal driver. He drove me to the hotel. We drove a very long time. I already forgot what narrow roads to Bali and what crazy traffic. Hotel Ecosphere is located on the oceanfront in Canggu on the world famous EcoBeach beach (at least as written on the sign :). Around - only villas and hotels, to civilization (Kuta, for example) you won’t reach on foot, and I don’t drive a bike. I haven’t found a place to buy fruit here, there is only a minimarket, but there, as usual, there are no fruits.

The hotel itself, as I understand it, is Russian. They have a website in Russian, managing Russians, they also offered to pay for the reservation to the Russian account, the menu has "Borcsh moskovskii" and "Sharlotka". There is little catastrophic space here, in Ubud there was many times more space in our homestay. everything is so compact here: a swimming pool and several houses. There are rooms for one, for two and for four. Judging by the photos, single and double rooms look good. But I live in a room for four. This is generally creepy. Bunk beds, although the place allows you to put the usual, the door to the bathroom does not close, the shower gives out hot water only in exceptional cases. Well, at least, I'm still alone. And the prices here are hoo-hoo! I don’t know what it is connected with the proximity of the ocean and surfers or Russian greed. In Ubud, we rented a room for $ 10 a day for two. Here, a place in a room for four costs $ 22 a day, that is, from all four they can get $ 88 a day! Seriously, they could have thrown off the price, maybe these numbers would have been filled. Now I live in one of these, and my surfer neighbor in the second, is also one. The hotel is rather dirty, at least in the "cheap" rooms.

In general, here is a completely different Bali than in Ubud. There is no such riot of nature and the beauty of architecture.

Regardless of the host country, it has similar features. These are beaches of tremendous beauty, the pure (almost everywhere) sea, exotic nature, many monuments of history, religion and culture. And yet there is a difference, so sometimes the question arises, what to choose - or.

The first island belongs to Thailand, a power that no one can compare with in this part of the world in terms of tourism. Bali is the largest of the islands, the first in the country in many tourist positions, the more interesting the comparison process.

Samui or Bali - where are the beaches more beautiful?

Samui Island offers various options for beach areas. The best is Chaweng, located on the east coast. Fine sand, clear sea, picturesque bays surrounded by greenery. Many hotels are built simply on the shore, which allows you to enjoy the sun and sea, without going far from the place of residence. The second most popular Lamai beach, here the sand is slightly coarser, rocky areas are found, but the hotels offer beauty treatments and spa massages.

The dream of tourists coming to the island of Bali is to find a paradise beach, there are such places all over the island, but in some places strong winds blow, so it’s good to sail there and not to sunbathe. In other parts of the island there are strong ebbs and flows that impede comfortable bathing. The beach is considered the best, and Pang Padang, which became the location of the famous American film "Eat, Pray, Love."

Entertainment

Among the attractions on Samui, hiking and trips to the beautiful places of the island are popular, in the list of natural monuments: the rocks of Hin-Ta ("Grandfather") and Hin-Yai ("Grandmother"); a beautiful waterfall called Namtok; Turtle island Koh Tao. You can have fun at the local aquarium, where the most famous tropical fish are represented. The tiger zoo offers to get acquainted with the more formidable inhabitants of these territories - Bengal tigers and leopards. Among other recreational activities, it is recommended to visit a transvestite show, a crocodile farm, a butterfly park.

Among the activities in Bali, the most popular are various sports and marine activities. Divers from all over the world come to this island who know about the most beautiful underwater landscapes, the richness of the animal world. There are opportunities for a single dive and the organization of multi-day diving safaris, daytime and mysterious night meetings with the deep sea.

The second popular sport is surfing, due to the strong winds that blow throughout the year in a certain part of the island. Beginners in this business go to the resort of Kuta, experienced surfers meet in where they are waiting for long, constant waves.

Sights and Monuments

On Samui, you can find many temple complexes and traditional Buddha statues. They are located throughout the island, located in cities and outside urban areas. Tourists also love to visit Ha-Thon, the main city of the island, where you can walk along the streets, watch the life of ships in the port.

It is interesting that Uluwatu, one of the bali resorts, the resort is famous not only for its waves and a large number of fans of surfing, but also for temple complexes. They also attract curious tourists from all over the island. They come not only to see the temple, but also to appreciate the amazing music and dance show, in which up to 150 participants can simultaneously enter the stage.

The main attractions of Bali are places of worship, thanks to which this corner of the planet is called "Islands of a thousand temples." It is interesting to look at them from the point of view of history, culture, architecture. Particularly impressive is the “mother of temples” - the Pura-Besaki complex, which includes more than 20 religious buildings and structures.

Another stunning sight awaits guests at the Tana-Loh Temple, during high tide all approaches to it are covered with water. The second feature of this building is that it is a "link" in the chain of temples, built in such a way that, only going to one, you begin to see the next.

A comparison of the Indonesian and Thai islands, well known in the tourist world, showed that they have a lot in common. Nevertheless, the rest on that and the other island is different from each other. Therefore, Samui will be chosen by tourists who:

  • want to relax on paradise beaches;
  • they love to have fun and go in for sports;
  • love trips around the country in search of attractions;
  • ready to explore the deep sea.

In Bali travelers will buy vouchers who:

  • know that you need to look for a good beach;
  • going to join the world of surfing and sink to the seabed;
  • are fans of Buddhism and ancient Buddhist culture.
